Attack on Titan began serializing in September 2009 in Bessatu Shonen Magazine which was written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama. The plot begins with Eren Yeager, the main protagonist, dreaming about going outside the Maria wall which restricted them from exploring the outside world with his best friend Armin and Mikasa. However, all of this came crashing down when his town was attacked by several “Titans” and the rumored Armoured Titan. Within a second, his life took a complete 360-degree turn as he saw many of his townspeople dying and getting eaten by those Titans including his mother, which made him pledge to exterminate each and every bit of the Titan race.

Since the time it was serialized to the current view, Attack on Titan has become one of the most popular as well widely sold manga series of all time. The latest Season 4 of the anime was meant to be the final one, however, to increase anticipation as well as to give time to animators, MAPPA decided to divide the latest season into 2 parts. The first part of which is already being serialized since December 2020.

There was a conflict going on whether Attack on Titans Season 4 Part 2 will be released as a movie since, the season end is expected to be extravagant and brilliant like the entire series or whether it would be serialized weekly, which will provide the series with its much-needed screen time and the attention it deserves.
However, it’s been confirmed that Attack on Titan will come back with a blast with its Part 2 in the winters of 2022; continuing from Episode 17, “Judgement”.
To give a brief summary of the series till season 4 Part 1 would be equivalent to committing treason since all aspects of the series were well-thought-out and planned even to the point of that small junior high school OVA of the series.
The series is not meant for faint-hearted people as it’s very gory and graphic in nature. The author of the series himself said that “Once Attack on Titan is over, and I successfully hurt everyone. I dream of opening a Spa, with the tears and sweat of my readers.” As you can see, this statement in itself explains how this entire series is made.
This series involves a plethora of characters so, mentioning only the main ones would be useful. Eren Yeager; voice actor- Yuki Kaji, is the main protagonist of the show who is bounded by his duty to kill all the Titans and save humanity. Mikasa Ackerman; voice actor- Yui Ishikawa, is the adoptive sister of Eren and is one of the deuteragonists of the show. Armin Arlert; voice actor- Marina Inoue, is one of the deuteragonists of the show and is a childhood best friend to both Eren and Mikasa.
The entire series while revolving around the struggles and growth of the protagonists gives enough love and attention to all the side characters, and one of them being the fan-favorite, Levi Ackerman.
Concluding it all, the season finale is highly anticipated by all the fans of the shows which sums up to huge number of viewers. While we all wish for a happy end however looking at the author’s earlier statement and seeing how things are going, who knows it might end up being dark or something totally unexpected.
