Netflix’s hit series Black Mirror is returning for season 6. The news about Black Mirror Season 6 came as a shock to fans. The creator of the show Charlie Brooker dismissed any rumors about season 6 of the show back in 2020. According to him due to COVID-19, the audience would have a difficult time watching the dystopian series. He said this during an interview with Radio Times:
“At the moment, I don’t know what stomach there would be for stories about societies falling apart, so I’m not working away on one of those. I’m sort of keen to revisit my comic skill set, so I’ve been writing scripts aimed at making myself laugh.”
This was not the only reason for the delay of Black Mirror Season 6. Annabel Jones and Charlie Brooker left the House of Tomorrow production company managed by Endemol Shine company. The creators were hesitating to work on season 6 of the show because of production issues. However, Brooker and Jones have started their own production company “Broke and Bones”. Netflix has invested a lot of money in its production company and there will be more future shows like “Black Mirror” on the streaming giant. Broke and Bones production company also created “Death to 2020” for Netflix which received mixed reviews from fans and critics.
Black Mirror Season 6 Release Date
There is no news about the release date of Season 6. Season 6 is still in development and Netflix has not announced anything about the upcoming season.
Plot
Black Mirror is anthology series so the plot of every episode is different. Netflix has declined to comment on any news regarding season 6 of the show. But, the upcoming season will have more episodes than season 5 which only had 3 episodes. The upcoming season will have a higher budget than the last season and each episode will be like a movie.
Cast
According to Variety, the cast of the first three episodes of the show includes Paapa Essiedu, and Aaron Paul are joining the cast. Josh Hartnett, Kate Mara, Danny Ramirez, Clara Rugaard, Auden Thornton, and Anjana Vasan will also appear in the upcoming season.
