Black Panther star, Chadwick Boseman, has died from colon cancer at the age of 43. He was suffering from it since 2016 and he kept it hidden from the public. Chadwick died with his family by his side. He left Marvel Studios to make a really difficult decision, “What to do with Black Panther 2 without Chadwick Boseman”. His family said in a statement:
A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much. From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, and several more- all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy. It was the honor of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther.
He joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as T’Challa in 2014 and appeared in Captain America: Civil War. Black Panther was released two years after the Civil War, back in 2018. The movie was directed by Ryan Coogler. Black Panther broke many box office records and won three Oscars. Back in 2019, a sequel to Black Panther was announced, it was set to release in 2022. Chadwick Boseman’s death is a huge loss to Marvel Studios since he was loved by the fans and he was the perfect Black Panther. Currently, Black Panther 2 and Chadwick Boseman are trending on twitter. He was an inspiration for so many people across the world.
I try to remove myself from the impact of the movie because I have to get back to work. I can’t rest on my laurels. At the same time, it’s a joy to see, even more so than this award, just the effect the film has on different people from various walks of life, no matter what race, gender, or age. To be a part of something that has affected people in different countries, that is humbling and liberating.

Is Shuri Going To Be The Next Black Panther?
There is no way someone else can play the role of Black Panther better than Chadwick. Fans are already asking Marvel Studios to cancel the Black Panther since there won’t be Chadwick anymore.

Black Panther is a major part of Marvel Cinematic Universe. Since, the mantle of the king can be given to Shuri, so they are going to cast her as the Black Panther. It is the only logical step for Marvel Studios right now.
Marvel fans: Your concern should not be whether there can be a Black Panther 2. There have been generations of Black Panthers (Shuri being the most recent).
