Supergirl is a DC Superhero TV Series airing on CW. Created by Ali Adler, Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg. The show first aired on CW back in 2015 and is still ongoing. It has five seasons up till now and is renewed for a sixth season. Melissa Benoist is playing the role of Supergirl in the CW TV series.
Superman’s cousin, Kara Danvers, was sent to Earth from Krypton. She was sent to protect Kal-El, Superman. However, her spacecraft malfunctioned and was sent into Phantom Zone, prison dimension. By the time she landed on Earth, Kal-El became the Superman and was known on Earth as Clark Kent. The series focuses on Kara protecting National City as the Supergirl. Kara starts working with her adoptive sister, Alex Danvers, along with Martian Manhunter and tech genius Winn Schott. Supergirl Season 6 will release in January 2021.
Several actresses were up for the role of Kara Danvers. In the end, Melissa Benoist was hired as the protector of National City. Claire Holt, Kayla Compton, Elizabeth Lail, also auditioned for this role in the Arrowverse. Kayla, however, is now playing the role of Allegra Garcia in The Flash.

Claire Holt also played the role of Samara Cook in Pretty Little Liars and Emma Gilbert in H2O. However, her role in The Vampire Diaries and the spinoff series The Originals was the reason for her fame.
In 2014, Fans were rooting for Claire as the Supergirl but Melissa Benoist got the role. Claire Holt continued appearing as the guest star in The Originals. She hasn’t been playing any role lately. However, she expressed interest in returning as Rebekah Mikaelson in The Originals spinoff Legacies.
