Netflix Cobra Kai Season 6 Renewal Confirmed By Ralph Macchio

Cobra Kai TV Series is a sequel to the original The Karate Kid films by Robert Mark Kamen. The Netflix series was first released back in 2018. The show got hit because of the fanbase of Karate Kid films. The show was first launched on YouTube Red. However, YouTube decided to put an end to it. Netflix acquired the show rights in June 2020, released the 3rd season, and renewed the series for a fourth. There are currently five seasons on Netflix. Cobra Kai Season 5 was released recently. Cobra Kai Season 6 has yet to be renewed by Netflix. However, Ralph Macchio confirmed that it will be renewed “very soon.” Co-creator of Cobra Kai, Jon Hurwitz said Cobra Kai Season 6 is being planned. However, Cobra Kai Season 6 could be delayed due to negotiations with Netflix and Sony.

Season 5 of the show ended on a cliffhanger. So, there is no doubt there will be a season 6. Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg revealed the plans for the series.

We’re still working all that out with Sony and Netflix, and we don’t have an official Season 6 to announce yet. What we can say is that we’re constantly thinking about these characters. We are working on Obliterated right now for Sony and Netflix. We’re in our second month of production on that, and I think it’s going to blow people’s minds.

In an interview, Ralph Macchio, who plays the role of Daniel LaRusso in the Cobra Kai series, said:

“Yeah, we, truthfully, we have not been picked up for season six yet, which we think should happen very soon. But keep watching, you know, keep those numbers going

Cobra Kai Season 6 Renewal Confirmed

According to Deadline, Obliterated is an action-comedy series based on an elite special forces team “who thwarts a deadly threat to Las Vegas”. They also said:

But we’re hopeful that there’s going to be more Cobra Kai on the horizon,” Hurwitz continued. “There may be a little bit more of a wait potentially, just because we are in the midst of working on that other show, but it won’t be far behind, assuming everything goes as we’re expecting.

Cobra Kai Season 6 Renewal Confirmed

Netflix has yet to renew the sixth season of Cobra Kai. However, Hurwitz confirmed that there are plans for Cobra Kai Season 6. “We are definitely writing towards an endgame, which will hopefully be beyond Season 5.”

All I can say is that we expect more Cobra Kai to come and that the Miyagiverse is far from finished.

The Karate Kid Movie franchise is getting a new movie too. Sony has officially announced the franchise return and said “the return to the original Karate Kid franchise.” However, no other details have been revealed yet. In an interview Ralph Macchio (Daniel LaRusso) suggested the idea of possible prequels and spinoffs. He said:

The thing that’s been created, there’s kind of this Karate Kid Cinematic Universe now where Cobra Kai is, you know, at the center of that and when that day does come in for a landing, there are other areas to draw from. I mean, whether it’s … Is there a Miyagi origin story? Is there a Cobra Kai prequel before The Karate Kid? Is there spin-offs with some of the young cast of these characters? Who knows? But we’re not done as long as we’re given the opportunity to really bring it in. As long as it evolves organically, these guys that write the show really have their finger on the pulse of that.

Season 5 Recap

In Season 4, we saw the greatest betrayal. Silver betrays John Kreese and ends up taking his Dojo. Season 5 was all about Silver expanding his Karate empire. Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso finally became friends because they now had the same enemy “Terry Silver”. He turns out to be the main villain of Season 5 as we all expected. With John Kreese in prison, Terry Silver owned Cobra Kai.

He wanted Cobra Kai to go global and wanted to shut down his rivals. However, at the end of Season 5, we saw Miyagi-Do/Eagle Fang students finally be able to get proof that John Kreese was innocent and it was Silver all along. Moreover, it was also revealed to Miyagi-Do/Eagle Fang that Silver cheated in the All-Valley Tournament. Chozen and Lawrence went to fight Silver. However, there were other senseis too. Cobra Kai Season 5 was filled with a lot of Action. Terry Silver ended up in jail in the end.
