Plot
Things become weird between both Tully and Kate. Tully was looking after Kate’s daughter Marah when kate was away for her father’s funeral. Tully was not supposed to let Marah go to a frat party. But she ended up allowing kate’s daughter to go to the party.
However, a drunk Marah called Tully and told her that she was assaulted and wanted Tully to pick her up. But, both of them got into an accident. The accident was not Tully’s fault but Kate was upset and started to ignore Tully and things became sour between the two best friends.
However, in the last scene, Kate was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer and she goes to Tully’s apartment only to find out that Tully is away on a work trip in Antarctica.
Fans are curious about what will happen between the two best friends after Kate’s cancer diagnosis. Luckily, fans can get some answers about what might happen in Firefly Lane Season 2 Part 2. In the original book, Tully rushes back from her trip back to Kate after hearing about her diagnosis and spends the rest of the days with Kate. “This was always Maggie’s decision to arc this storyline. Basically, the arc follows the storyline of the book, and then it also goes off into brand new directions as well. That was the plan to know how many episodes it was going to be done over so that the story could be told in its entirety. There was no waiting on finding out if there’s a pickup or not, and then [the story] is left halfway told, it was the completion of their journey.”
