Google has finally released its Pixel 4a and has announced two other flagships. The launch of the Google Pixel 4a was delayed because of the pandemic. Pixel Android phones are famous because of their impressive camera and they are affordable. Though Pixel 4a is not a performance beast but is good for people, who are looking for mid-range Android phones. The best thing about Google phones is the latest android and it’s guaranteed to get at least three years of timely Android updates, security patches, etc. Pixel 4a is equipped with a mid-range processor, Snapdragon 730. So, the performance is satisfactory.

Apple iPhone SE (2020) was also launched this year, in April and is considered to be Apple’s most affordable smartphone. It is a huge deal-breaker phone by Apple because of its processor. It is equipped with the same processor that is available in iPhone 11.

Display and Design

Google Pixel 4a has a glass front and a plastic back, the front is coated with Gorilla Glass 3. It has a plastic frame. Plastic back and Gorilla Glass 3 is a downfall in this phone. It has a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and a screen size of 5.81, bigger than the Pixel 4. However, the Pixel 4 has a Gorilla Glass 5 on both back and front. Also, Pixel 4a has a normal OLED capacitive touchscreen.

Apple iPhone SE (2020) has a glass front and glass back along with an aluminum frame. The phone is protected by Ion-strengthened glass and oleophobic coating. The screen size of the iPhone SE (2020) is 4.7 inches, which is really small compared to Pixel 4a. The resolution of Apple’s budget smartphone is 750 x 1334 pixels. However, 625 nits max brightness is the real deal in this price range.

As mentioned above, Pixel 4a is equipped with a mid-range processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 with Octa-core Titan M. There is only one variant of Pixel 4a having 6 GB Ram and 128 GB Storage. It is running on Android 10 and is equipped with Adreno 618 GPU. Performance-wise iPhone SE (2020) has a upper hand.

iPhone SE (2020) is equipped with Apple A13 Bionic which is also present in Apple iPhone 11. It is currently the most powerful Apple’s smartphone processor. Also, the phone is running on iOS 13 and is equipped with Apple GPU (4-core graphics). There is no comparison between Snapdragon 730 and Apple A13 Bionic.

Camera

The best thing about Google Pixel phones is their flagship-tier cameras. They got the most impressive cameras. There is only one camera on the back of Google Pixel 4a having a 12.2 MegaPixel lens. The same sensor that was used in Pixel 3, Sony IMX363 sensor, is used in Pixel 4a. The night mode of Pixel 4a is really good and can take good pictures even in a low light condition. There is no mid-range phone that can take better photos at night than Pixel 4a. It can record 4K at 30fps and 1080p at 30/60/120fps. It also has a single front camera having an 8 MP lens.

iPhone SE (2020) also has only one camera on the back having a 12 MP wide lens. The camera quality is really similar to the iPhone 8. Though iPhone SE (2020) camera is really good in daylight conditions, when used in low light the quality is satisfactory. It can record 4K at 24/30/60fps and 1080p at 30/60/120/240fps. The front-facing camera has a 7 MP lens.

Battery

Google Pixel 4a has a non-removable Li-Po 3140 mAh battery. Pixel 4 has a 2800 mAh battery. However, Pixel 4a can only last a day or two even with that battery. Compared to Apple iPhone SE (2020) battery, Pixel 4a has a better battery. iPhone SE (2020) has a non-removable Li-Ion 1821 mAh battery.

Google Pixel 4a was released a while ago and costs only $349, can be bought from Google Store. Pre order now. iPhone SE (2020) price is $380.
