More diverse CHARACTERS

Just like all the shows of 2000, Gossip girl is also guilty of lesser diverse characters. Joshua Safranthe writer and the producer of the show is all excited for the upcoming show. According to him, there are going to be people of color in the show as well and it is going to be a less “White centered show”.

He said this in an interview;

“There was not a lot of representation on the show at that time. Even when I went to a private school in New York in the ’90s, the school didn’t necessarily reflect what was on Gossip Girl. So this time around the leads is nonwhite. It is very much dealing with the way the world looks now, where wealth and privilege come from, and how you handle that, before teasing one other major way the reboot will differ from the original series. The thing I can’t say is there is a twist, and that all relates to the twist.”
