Degrassi: The Next-generation launched the careers of many famous artists like Nina Dobrev (The Vampire Diaries) and Drake.
HBO Max is planning for a reboot of the show “Degrassi Reboot 2023“. HBO Max also rebooted the famous “Gossip Girl” this year. But, the show got mixed reviews from the critics and the audience. However, fans of the original show are wondering if their fan-favorite characters will be included in the show?
Drake is also working as a producer for HBO max’s other hit teen-melancholy show “Euphoria“. Euphoria is quite famous on the streaming service. There is a possibility of drake appearing in the reboot of Degrassi.
Will Drake appear in the show?
HBO Max has purchased the rights to the previous seasons of the show as well. The rebooted show will be filmed in Canada. It will be about a group of teenagers from Toronto. Drake often mentions his hometown in his music. So, there might be a possibility that he would return for the reboot of the show. Fans are also expecting Nina Dobrev in the reboot show. However, both Nina nor Drake did not confirm the news yet.
Plot
Degrassi Reboot 2023 will have 10 episodes. According to Variety magazine, the storyline of the show will be:
“Degrassi” will chart the painful high school experience of self-discovery by following a group of Toronto students and faculty coping with events that both bring them together and tear them apart.
The original creators and owners of the franchise WildBrain will be returning for the reboot show as well. Amy Friedman from HBO max shared her thoughts about the upcoming show in an interview:
“Series after series, the ‘Degrassi’ franchise continues to make an indelible impact on young viewers looking for trustworthy and authentic storytelling,” she continued
“WildBrain continues to artfully capture high school life in a compelling format that can be experienced seamlessly on HBO Max.”

Degrassi Reboot 2023 Release Date
Degrassi Reboot 2023 will release in spring 2023. There is no news about the official release date. However, the filming of the show will start this year in Toronto.
