Can you catch a Shiny Rowlet in Pokemon GO?
Unfortunately, you cannot catch a shiny Rowlet in Pokemon GO yet since it hasn’t been released in the game. Despite its debut last Spring, players still need to wait longer to catch this Pokemon’s shiny version.
But don’t worry, you can still catch a regular Rowlet during the Rowlet Spotlight Hour to earn some Candy. Moreover, there are other shiny Pokemon you can catch in the game. To discover your chances of encountering shinies, check out our Pokemon GO shiny odds guide.
As for the release date of shiny Rowlet in Pokemon GO, Niantic has not announced it yet. However, we expect it to come out in the Summer of 2023, a year after Rowlet’s debut in the game.
In the meantime, you can catch the shiny versions of some Legendary Pokemon from the Alola region. Shiny Rowlet has a mint green body, red beak and feet, and dark turquoise leaves on its chest. Its stomach and face are still white, though.
What is this week’s Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour?
If you’re a Pokemon Go player, then you must be aware of the weekly Spotlight Hour event. This week’s event, which takes place on Tuesday, March 14, will feature the popular Alolan starter, Rowlet.
During the event, which runs from 6 PM to 7 PM local time, the spawn rate of Rowlet will be significantly increased. This means that players will have a greater chance of catching and collecting as many Rowlets as possible.
In addition to that, the active bonus for this week’s Spotlight Hour is 2x Evolve XP. This bonus is not only great for players who want to catch Rowlet but also for those who want to evolve their existing Pokemon and earn some extra XP.
While it’s currently not possible to catch a shiny Rowlet in Pokemon GO, players can still catch the regular version and farm some Candy during the Rowlet Spotlight Hour. There are also many other shiny Pokemon to catch in the game, and players can use our shiny odds guide to increase their chances of encountering them. We can only hope that the shiny version of Rowlet will be released in the game soon, possibly in the summer of 2023.
