On February 2nd, Instagram announced a new feature “Recently Deleted“. With this feature, you can restore or review your deleted Instagram Posts. According to Instagram, this feature will help in case your account gets compromised and the hacker deletes your posts from your account.
We know hackers sometimes delete content when they gain access to an account, and until now people had no way of easily getting their photos and videos back. Starting today, we will ask people to first verify that they are the rightful account holders when permanently deleting or restoring content from Recently Deleted.Instagram Blog
“Recently Deleted” is actually a folder that will be added to the application’s menu and it will store all the deleted posts. Regular photos, IGTV videos, and Reels will remain in this folder for up to 30 days. However, after 30 days these posts, videos, and Reels will get deleted automatically. You can access this folder by going to your settings> account> “recently deleted” folder.
Restore Your Deleted Instagram Posts
- Open your Instagram Application.
- Go to Settings, then click on the account, and then open the Recently Deleted Folder.
- After opening the folder, you will see different sections Photo, IGTV video, Reels, etc.
- Click on the post, you want to restore.
- Select on Restore.
- You can also permanently delete the post manually from this folder.
Sometimes, people end up deleting a post accidentally, this feature is going to be really helpful for them. Instagram Stories disappear after 24 hours, but you can still access those stories from the Story Archives folder. The “Recently Deleted” feature has started to roll out for everyone. Right now, it’s not available for everyone but soon it will be available.
