The Vampire Diaries started airing in 2009 and ended in 2017. There are eight seasons of The Vampire Diaries. The spin-off series The Originals started airing in 2013 and ended in 2018. Currently, the spin-off series of The Originals “Legacies” is ongoing and airing on the CW. The show first aired back in 2018 after The Originals ended. Legacies Season 4 is currently airing on CW and Netflix. “Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost” will air on 10th March 2022.
The spin-off show focuses on Tribrid, Hope Mikaelson, played by Danielle Rose Russell. She is the daughter of Klaus Mikaelson, an original vampire, who sacrificed his life so that Hope can live. Legacies Season 4 introduced Hope Mikaelson’s’ Original Vampire’ powers. She activated her Tribid powers. She also turned her emotions switch off. Moreover, Rebecca Breeds also reprised her role “Aurora de Martel”.
Is Legacies Season 5 Canceled?
CW has yet to renew or cancel Legacies Season 5. Season 4 is still ongoing. CW hasn’t made the renewal announcement of any show. Due to covid, most of the shows took a long break which affected the rating and viewership. The latest season ratings were down by 30%. The spin-off show of Originals showed a big drop in ratings compared to last season. However, it is still in the top-10 CW shows.
Even though, ratings dropped but there is a high chance that Legacies will be renewed for a fifth season by CW. Kaylee Bryant, who plays the role of Josie Saltzman, left the show after appearing in four seasons of Legacies. She played a major role in the series. She said:

TV for giving me this opportunity. “I am so grateful to the fans and will love them always and forever for welcoming and accepting me into this world. Josie has helped so many beautiful humans feel comfortable in their sexuality, and I hope her legacy lives on so that one day everyone feels free to love whoever they want regardless of gender.
Caroline might also return for Legacies Season 5. Last year, she was asked about returning and she said:
Yes…I always just say yes. And obviously, COVID changed things and the way that things were filming, so those invitations might even be a little delayed, you know. But, uh, yes. Absolutely. Absolutely.
Brett Matthews said that the Legacies doors are always open for the old cast of The Vampire Diaries. He said:
If anybody’s dying to come back and dip a toe back into this universe, just tell them to call me.
