Petition to “Remove “365 Days” from Netflix for Glorifying Stockholm Syndrome and Abuse” already reached 88,732 signatures. The petition is close to 100K Signatures. 365 Days is a polish thriller movie which is currently the most popular film on Netflix of 2020. However, this polish movie is not a Netflix original but it helped the streaming giant a lot in gaining the audience. Netflix added the film on June 7, 2020, and it instantly became trending. It is also trending on Netflix right now.
The Polish thriller has a 3.3/10 rating on IMDb and a 0% rating on the rotten tomatoes. Mikayla Zazon started a petition after the release of the film on Netflix. The petition starts with:
1 in 4 women experiences domestic violence in their life. And Netflix clearly stands on the side of the abusers by having a movie that glorifies, romanticizes, and condones sexual assault trending on their top 10 recommended movies to watch around the globe.
By taking down this movie on Netflix, we can protect sexual violence in adolescent women and adult women. And we can prevent boys from seeing such horrific behavior as permission to sexual assault and rape women.
However, it seems Netflix does not really care about this petition. They even rejected to remove Cuties from their library so there is no chance that they are going to remove 365 Days. Moreover, a sequel is in progress, based on the books it was revealed that she was kidnapped by the rival family. Massimo will save Laura from the rival gang. They were gonna start filming in August, but due to the pandemic, they had to delay the filming.
