Recently, CW canceled The Vampire Diaries spinoff show ‘Legacies’ along with many other famous TV shows. The Vampire Diaries started airing in 2009 and ended in 2017. There are eight seasons of The Vampire Diaries. The spin-off series The Originals started airing in 2013 and ended in 2018. Currently, the spin-off series of The Originals “Legacies” is ongoing and airing on the CW. The show first aired back in 2018 after The Originals ended.
The spin-off show focuses on Tribrid, Hope Mikaelson, played by Danielle Rose Russell. She is the daughter of Klaus Mikaelson, an original vampire, who sacrificed his life so that Hope can live. Legacies Season 4 introduced Hope Mikaelson’s Original Vampire’ powers. She activated her Tribid powers. She also turned her emotions switched off this season.
CW also canceled Batwoman, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, 4400, Roswell, New Mexico, Dynasty and Charmed. Julie Plec said on cancelation of the show:
It’s the Red Wedding at WBTV/CW today. Much more to say, but not today. Loads of gratitude coming for fans and cast and crew in future tweets. But today, we mourn.
Legacies creator Julie Plec has promised the fans that ‘Legacies’ Finale includes Mind-Blowing ‘Surprises’ for Vampire Diaries Fans. She said:
The season finales of both shows [Roswell and Legacies] were carefully crafted to also work as series finales. And there are a couple surprises for long-time #TVDU fans that may just blow your mind
Julie Plec didn’t reveal what the surprise is going to be in Legacies Finale. However, it is most probably the appearance of someone from Vampire Diaries. It could be Dr Elena Gilbert or Damon Salvatore.

Candice King also showed interest in reprising her role as Caroline Forbes in ‘Legacies’ last year. She said:
Yes…I always just say yes. And obviously, COVID changed things and the way that things were filming, so those invitations might even be a little delayed, you know. But, uh, yes. Absolutely. Absolutely.
The Originals Family also appeared in ‘Legacies’ Season 4.
Back in January 2021, Brett Matthews said that the Legacies doors are always open for the old cast of The Vampire Diaries. Ian Somerhalder ruled out the possibility of ever returning to Legacies last year. However, since it’s the finale of ‘Legacies’, exceptions can be made. Brett Matthews said:
If anybody’s dying to come back and dip a toe back into this universe, just tell them to call me.
‘Legacies’ Finale is going to air on June 16.
