Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 is coming to Netflix. The series quickly appeared in Netflix’s top 10 list after it was released in May 2022. Also, according to IMBd, the series racked up 884 million minutes of viewership. The series did good on the streaming platform and received positive reviews from critics and audiences. The “Lincoln Lawyer” has a 75% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a 7.7 rating on IMDb. Netflix made the renewal announcement on June 14, 2022, only a few weeks after season one’s release.
Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 Release Date
Netflix made a now-deleted tweet about the show’s renewal on June 14, 2022.
“LA’s finest lawyer is back. The Lincoln Lawyer will return for Season 2 on Netflix.”
Season 2 of the series is expected to release in the fall of 2023 as the filming will be delayed due to multiple holidays between the filming schedule. Also, the production of season 2 started on October 31st, 2022. According to a source, the filming of the upcoming season will conclude on March 31, 2023.
Dailyn Rodriguez known as the show-runner for Queen of the south is rumored to join Ted Humphrey as the show-runner in season 2.
Cast
Manuel Garcia-Rulfo will reprise his role of Micky Jagger. Other cast members include Neve Campbell, Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, and Angus Sampson. However, Neve Campbell’s role is reduced as she is busy filming another series for ABC, “Avlon”. Campbell played Mick Jagger’s ex-wife and a DIA officer “Maggie McPherson“.
Plot
Season one ended with a happy ending for Micky Jagger. Jagger inherited Jerry’s practice and his cases including Trevor Elliot’s case. The “Lincoln Lawyer” was able to win Trevor Elliot’s case but Trevor got what he deserved after he got shot by Carol Dubis. The show ended with Micky being able to get over his fear of surfing, but the man with tattoos was seen watching him on the beach indicating that there someone is still after him. Also, Cisco found out about Micky’s tab with the Saints. We will find out what will happen between Saints and Micky. We will also see if Micky will get back with his first wife played by Maggie.
The series is based on the book series of the same name by Michael Connelly. There are a total of 6 books in the book series. The Netflix series adapted the second book in the series instead of the first book, as there is already a movie based on the first book starring Matthew McConaughey. According to Variety, the second season will follow the fourth book “The Fifth Witness“. However, in the second book Micky Jagger is appointed to defend Lisa Trammel who is accused of killing a banker. Even though Micky is certain his client is guilty, the last surprise comes when the verdict is in.
