Tom Cruise is not over with the Mission Impossible movies yet. It seems like they are going to be on big screens for a while now. The actor is 58 years old now and he is not planning to retire anytime soon.
Mission impossible was first released in the 90s and still to this date, the franchise is quite famous. Fans compare this franchise to the James Bond franchise a lot. In June we heard the news about Tom Cruise planning to go into space with SpaceX.
However, it’s not clear yet whether or not they are going to shoot mission impossible 7 or 8 in space. We will reveal everything we know about this upcoming movie.
Nicholas Hoult removed from the project
Early this year we heard rumors that Nicholas Hoult is playing villain against Tom Cruise. But, it seems like Nicholas Hoult had to drop this project. Nicholas Hoult is fully invested in his new project The Great. It got a lot of positive reviews to form critics and the audience as well.
But, Christopher McQuarrie (director and writer) of the mission impossible series told fans not to worry as they got the best substitute.

Why they are going to release two Mission Impossible movies?
Tom Cruise has been very open about the future of mission impossible series. According to McQuarrie he specially asked Tom for two installments.
He said this in a interview:
“When we went into making Fallout, I said to Tom, ‘I really want to make this more of an emotional journey for (Ethan Hunt),’” McQuarrie recalled. “Going into this, I said, ‘I want to take what we learned from Falloutand apply it to every character in the movie. I want everyone to have an emotional arc … I just want the movie to have more feeling across the board.”
He further said about the seventh installment to the Sun:
“No sooner was this movie in the can and out the door that Tom turned to me and said, ‘Here’s what I want to do next,’” McQuarrie said. “In fact, at the premiere in Paris that was the first time Tom and I sat down to watch the film together. The response from the audience was amazing and as the credits rolled and the audience was cheering, Tom turned to me and said, ‘Yeah, we can do better.’”
Will Henry Cavil return?
Henry Cavil played the roles of CIA agent in the 6th installment of the movie. However, it is not confirmed if he will return as Augustus Walker in the upcoming movies.
Henry Cavil, who is famous for playing Superman in the DC movies, has shared his thoughts on working with Cruise. He thinks it’s hard to keep up with the 58 years old actor.
However, right now Cavil is busy himself as he is also shooting for the Witcher season 2 and other movie projects. But, we never know he could be back.
What is the plot of Mission Impossible 7?
Mission Impossible 6 was full of action. But, in the end, the IMF team was still intact. There was a lot of action including CIA agents monitoring the IMF team trying to get the reactors.
But, it seems like Mission Impossible 7 and 8 could be back with new plots and stories. Simon Pegg who plays the role of Benji in the movie says that Benji’s role is going to be of great significance in the next movies. Benji is a significant part of IMF so we are going to see a lot of him in the next upcoming movies.
Release date of Mission Impossible 7
The movie was set to release in 2021 but due to the pandemic, they have shifted the release date to 2022.
