Netflix’s upcoming series “Inventing Anna” is based on the real-life story of “Anna Delvey“. Anna Delvey was a fake socialist. Anna Delvey tricked the elites of new york city for millions. She also tricked multiple banks for loans. Anna Delvey became more famous after the New York magazines article was posted in 2018. According to the article, Anna stole $275,000 from her friends and different New York business.
In 2019, Anna Delvey, her real name is Anna Sorokin. Anna Sorokin was charged with our counts of theft services, three counts of grand larceny, and one count of attempted grand larceny by a Manhattan judge. Anna Sorokin was charged with 4 years in prison. The Russian native did not show any remorse. According to a source, she could have a lesser sentence but she chose the longer sentence because she wanted to save her image. Anna believes she did not do anything wrong.

Inventing Anna first started its production in 2021. But, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they had to delay the filming of the show. The show will release in February 2022 on Netflix.
Cast
Julia Garner will play Anna Delvey in the series. However, Twitter wanted “Lindsay Lohan” to play the New York socialist. But, Ozark’s Julia Garner looks exactly like Delvey in the trailer of the upcoming series.
However, people are not impressed by Julia Garner’s accent. People have called her German accent “terrible”. Anna Chulmsky will play a reporter covering Anna Delvey’s case. Laverne Cox and Katie Lowes will also appear in the series.
Plot
The show is about Jessica Pressler’s 2018 article for New York magazine. Pressler’s other article also inspired Jennifer Lopez’s 2019 movie “Hustlers”. The show will focus on how Anna managed to trick so many people in New York. According to Netflix’s official description;
