Lock and Key Season 2 was released on Netflix this October. Season 2 of the show received positive reviews from the audience. However, there is no news about season 3 of the show yet. But, the show received mostly positive reviews from the audience. The first season of the show told us the story of three siblings Kinsey, Bode, and Tyler loving in a house with magical keys. The family moved into their family house of their father after their dad was murdered by his student Sam Lesser.
Plot
We discovered in season 2 that the Locke family can also create magical keys. Tyler Locke moved to Boston for studies and said goodbye to his family and the magical keys. Scot is also moving to art school. However, Connor Jessup, the actor who plays Tyler, revealed that it is not the last time we will be seeing Tyler in the show. He will return in Netflix Lock and Key season 3 and his story is not finished yet.
Connor Jessup told Decider;
“I don’t think when he leaves at the end of season two that his story is over, To me, it felt like a new chapter, but it didn’t feel like a resolution. So, there’s still more for Tyler.”
Captain Frederick Gideon, the first Echo, is free, he will return in Lock and Key Season 3 to take revenge on the Locke family. The show will get darker in season 3. He is a more dangerous villain than Dodge/Gabe.
Lock and Key Season 3 Release Date
There is no news about the release date of season 3 yet. The first season of the show was released on February 7, 2020. The second season was released 20 months later in 2021. If Netflix follows this pattern, then we will get Lock and Key Season 3 in October 2023. But, there is no official statement from Netflix about season 3 of the show.
However, Brian Wright, Vice president of Netflix, revealed his thoughts about the show’s success in an interview;
“[Showrunners] Carlton [Cuse] and Meredith [Averill] have built an incredible world in Locke and Key and we’re excited to have the Lockes return for more in the third season,”
So, it seems like there will be a season 3 of the show.
