Netflix is working on another horror series “Midnight Mass”. Mike Flanagan, also known for creating shows like The haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor is behind the creation of “Midnight Mass”. Mike recently announced on his Twitter that the shooting of the show has been completed. Flanagan directed each and every episode of the show. Fans have a lot of expectations about the show. The haunting of Hill house impressed critics and the audience as well.
However, according to recent reports, there will be no chapter 3 for The Haunting of Hill House as Mike Flanagan is fully invested in the new series. According to him, the new series is going to be as good as the haunting of hill house series.
He tweeted:
“That’s a wrap on Midnight Mass. It has been an extraordinary, unprecedented production, and I cannot be prouder of this amazing cast and crew. In fact – and I do not say this lightly – this has been the best production experience of my career.
“We began prepping this series in December 2019, We were mere days away from shooting when the production was shut down in March 2020 because of the pandemic, We left our sets standing, dropped everything, and frantically got our cast and crew to their homes as the lockdown began.”
Midnight Mass Plot
According to Netflix, the story is based on the lives of people living on an island. But, their lives change drastically when a young priest arrives there. The series also has a connection with Hush and Gerald’Game. Maddie Young, from hush, write the book ” Midnight Mass” which appeared in Gerald’s Game s well. This fact will also make the movie interesting to watch.

The haunting hill house and Bly manor’s cast is returning for this new show as well. Kate Siegel from haunting of hill house and haunting Bly Manor is going to be “Midnight Mass”. Release Date
The show was announced in 2019. But, the shooting of Midnight Mass was canceled during the pandemic. However, it might be released in July 2021 on Netflix. The filming of the show during the pandemic was a tough task for the time according to Mike Flanagan. He also tweeted about his experience:
“Our COVID safety protocols were thorough, scientific, and strictly enforced. Our precautions paid off – we did not miss a single day of production, and unlike a lot of other shows, we did not shut down once. Not one time. 83 shooting days, without interruption. This series has been a dream project of mine for many, many years. It is the most personal story I’ve ever told. I’ve been reluctant to direct a whole season again after Hill House, but I’m so glad I did in this case. I am so lucky to have worked with this cast and crew.”
