Amy Poehler shared her feelings about her upcoming project, she is proud of the project and also said that the movie actually represents a lot of things she has experienced herself. She said this during an interview:
“The ways in which people are encouraged to participate and lend their voice is so different than it was when I was growing up. So much of my last decade of activism is about unlearning the ways in which I learned how to participate.”
“Television and film can do it in a really cool way and kind of show that things are just not as cut and dried and black and white as they seem to be. Sometimes, it’s more helpful to watch or hear or relate to someone who didn’t get it right than someone who did.”
A shy teenager inspired by her mother’s troubled past starts a revolution at her local high with the help of her friend. It is an amazing blend of comedy and feminism. The movie is going to deliver a strong message to the viewers. According to Amy, the movie is quite different than the others. It is not just a comedy or teenage movie, the adults in the movie have also played an important role as well.
