Netflix Outer banks Season 2 was full of surprises. The show is still number one in a lot of countries on Netflix. Season 2 ended with a lot of unanswered questions. Like the previous season, this season ended with a twist too. Outer Banks was released in April 2020. After one year, Outer Banks Season 2 was released on 30th July.
Outer Banks Season 3 Release Date
Netflix has not announced the release date of Outer Banks Season 3 yet. But, we all know there is going to be a season 3. Outer Banks is in the top 10 of the streaming platform. The show’s boss Jonas Pate revealed that the show will continue for five seasons. But, in the end, it depends on Netflix if they would allow the show to run for five seasons.
Outer Banks Season 3 might release in the mid of 2022. You will have to wait for another year to watch season 3 of the show.
Plot
Outer Banks Season 2 had a lot of plot twists. John B and Sarah continued their search for gold. They also introduced new characters. John B and Sarah reunited with their friends in Charleston after they had a dangerous encounter with Carla.
The pogues also jumped from the cargo ship after losing the cross of Santo Domingo to the Cameron family. Sarah was almost killed by her father. However, Rafe promised his father that he will bring Sarah back to win his father’s approval. There was also another big surprise, John B’s father is alive. He promised Carla that he will help her find the healing shroud if she helps his son.
We are definitely going to see father-son bonding in the upcoming seasons. Josh Pate revealed his thoughts about John B’ and his father’s relationship in the upcoming seasons in his interview with EW,
“John B’s relationship with his dad is a huge theme [to shape season three]. Having his dad back around and eventually they’re going to meet back up and John B has to reconcile his idealized version of his dead dad with the reality of his alive dad,” Pate added. “It gives us a lot of thematic father-son stuff to work with.”
Shannon Burke also added:
“It’s going to be instrumental and maybe the spine [of season three] basically. It’s obviously a gigantic revelation that’s going to power a huge part of the third season.”
Chase Stokes (John B) also gave his insight into John B’s future:
“hoping to continue to tell the story for a couple more seasons”, he mused: “It wasn’t like he [Big John] was swept away by a natural disaster or whatever the case may be. It was his choice to go out and leave his son, and what does that look like? What does it look like when a kid comes face-to-face with a parent who’s left and chose to put him in these circumstances and has no idea what has happened in the meantime?”
Pate also revealed what will happen in the upcoming seasons of the show:
“the treasure hunt is going to expand, and the mythology around the treasure hunt is going to evolve and get deeper.”
We are also going to see the romance between Kiara and JJ. Fans are happy with the decisions and excited for the upcoming season of the show.
Cast
All the pogues will return for season 3. Rafe Cameron( Drew Starkey) Cleo (Carlacia Grant ) and Topper ( Austin North) will also return for season 3.
