Red notice is Netflix’s one the most expensive movies. The movie did well on the platform. Red Notice is still number one in many countries. According to Forbes, the movie received 328.8 million views in just 17 days. Dwayne Johnson shared about the success of the movie on his Twitter account.
Red notice has surpassed Birdbox and has become the most-watched movie on the platform. The movie is based on an FBI profiler and two thieves. In the movie, FBI profiler John Hartley teams up with Nolan Booth to capture Bishop a notorious criminal. There were a lot of twists in the movie however, the film left a door open for a sequel. Netflix has not announced anything about the Red Notice Sequel yet.
Marshall Thurber, the director of the movie revealed in an interview with Collider that there might be a possibility of a Red Notice Sequel:
“I’m not working on the script for a sequel…I’ve certainly been noodling with what I would do for a follow-up and not to telltale out of school but yeah Netflix…we’ve been having those conversations.”
Dwayne Johnson, who plays John Hartley in the movie also produced the movie through his Seven Buck production company. Dwayne revealed an interview about the possibility in his interview with SiriusXM
“I would love to do more… it’s up to the audience, so we will see. I will tell you that just based off of reaction so far and what we’ve been able to cull from the audiences, there’s a good chance that we will see a return of this,”
Red Notice Sequel Release Date
Red Notice Sequel might release in November 2023. Netflix usually takes 2 years to create the sequel of the movie. But, as the movie has big names as the main leads, the movie might take more than 2 years to complete. The filming of the first movie was also delayed because of the pandemic.
Plot
Red Notice had a lot of plot twists. But, the biggest plot twist was Hartley was working with Bishop. Both of them snitched on Booth and stole Cleopatra’s egg from him and sold the egg to an Egyptian billionaire for $300 million. Both Bishop and Hartley then also snitched on the billionaire and told Interpol about him.
However, Booth revealed to both of them that he snitched on their bank account with 300 million dollars to Interpol. He then revealed that he has a “three-thief job” for them. They had no choice but to accept the offer as Booth also told Interpol about their location.
Three of them were seen standing in front of the Louvre Museum in Paris to steal Mona Lisa. However, the biggest question is that if they can trust each other?
Thurber revealed this in an interview with GamesRadar
“Can they or can’t they? As the writer-director, I can’t quite help myself thinking about what I want to do next. I love these characters, I love this world, I love this tone,”
“I have an idea of what’s in store for them, but I think when you put three thieves together, it can be tricky. Never trust anybody!”
Cast
Gal Gadot, Dwayne Johnson, and Ryan Reynolds they will return for the sequel as there were no casualties in the first movie.
