Ryan Murphy has a 300 million dollars deal with Netflix. After his successful hits like Glee and American Horror story, there is no shock that he is going to have another project with Netflix. After the success of Ratched, Netflix is more excited than ever to have another project with Ryan Murphy. Ryan Murphy is also known for his other project with Netflix ‘The Politician” as well.
However, Netflix The Prom is actually based on a musical of the same name. The broadway play received various awards in 2019. Ryan Murphy is now going to direct the Broadway musical into a movie. The musical got multiple awards. Ryan Murphy is from Indiana. So, he personally likes the broadway play as well. The project was all set to release earlier this year. But, they had to stop filming because of the corona-virus pandemic. The shooting started again in July with all precautions. However, according to Meryl Streep, the movie is going to be what we all asked for in 2020.
Netflix The Prom Plot
The Broadway play is actually based on a girl from the LGBTQ community from Indiana. She wanted to go to her high school prom with her friend. But, even though she had the full support of her high school principal, the head of the PTA is going to be against the decision of her going to the prom with the girl. However, on the other hand, two struggling broadway actors played by Meryl Streep and James Corden will try to help the girl. They will help along with their other actor friends. But, things will not go as planned. They would have to do something special in the end to celebrate what she is.
Cast
The cast of the movie is going to be special as well. Meryl Streep is going to play Dee Dee Allen and James Corden who is famous for the late late show is going to play the role of Barry Glickman. Jo Ellen Pellman is going to play the main lead role of Emma. Nicole Kidman is also going to be in the movie. However, it was also rumored that Ariana grande might be in the movie as well. Her role is not really revealed but she might make an appearance.

But when their self-absorbed celebrity activism unexpectedly backfires, the foursome finds their own lives upended as they rally to give Emma a night where she can truly celebrate who she is.
