Those of us who love spy thrillers are sure to be enthralled by the upcoming limited series Treason on Netflix. Starring Charlie Cox, this new limited series follows an MI6 agent who has been tasked to investigate an ongoing conspiracy. However, as he begins to uncover a series of political and personal secrets, he is forced to question his own life and the people around him.

Release Date

“Treason” will premiere on December 26 and will be available exclusively on the Netflix streaming service. The spy drama will be directed by Louise Hooper, who has previously worked on the British four-part thriller Flesh & Blood and the series The Witcher.

Netflix released a series poster for the show along with first-look images of its leading stars. The official synopsis states that Adam Lawrence (Cox) is an MI6 agent who is struggling to navigate a complex political relationship while a Russian spy named Kara (Kurylenko) enters his life. When a troublesome situation escalates, Lawrence must decide whether to keep his loved ones safe or risk revealing their secrets.

As Adam Lawrence begins to uncover a conspiracy, he is forced to question his own existence. This leads to him being placed in a deadly love-hate relationship with Kara. He begins to uncover a series of political and emotional secrets and must make a decision about what he wants to do with his life.

Charlie Cox will star as an MI6 agent who has a troubled past with a Russian spy. When a Russian spy named Kara (Kurylenko) becomes involved in his life, Lawrence begins to question everything he has ever known. The story also focuses on a grittier love triangle.

Production

“Treason” will be produced by ITV Studios, Binocular Productions, and Borderline Productions. The series is written by Matt Charman, who wrote the script for Tom Hanks’ espionage-thriller Bridge of Spies. Charman has previously worked on the BBC series Our Zoo and the 2014 Acorn TV series Black Work.

Charman has also earned an Academy Award nod for the script for Bridge of Spies. He has also written scripts for several other projects. He has also been working as a line producer for the series. Charman has also written the script for the film adaptation of the popular book Stardust by Neil Gaiman.

Cast

The Netflix series also stars Charlie Cox, Oona Chaplin, Olga Kurylenko, and Ciaran Hinds. Kurylenko is a Ukrainian-born actress. She has appeared in a number of James Bond films and has also appeared in “Vanishing” and “White Elephant”. She has also appeared in Disney’s “Black Widow” and “Quantum of Solace”.

The supporting cast includes Tracy Ifechor, Beau Gadsdon, Rishi Nair, and Joe Macaulay. The series is also executive produced by Foz Allan, who has previously worked on the Marvel movies “Daredevil” and “Riviera”. As the story unfolds, Adam, Kara, and Maddy begin to uncover secrets and begin a dangerous game of uncovering their own secrets. Treason is a limited series that will debut on Netflix on December 26.
