On My Block Season 4 is going to be the final season. Netflix finally announced the release date of the final season. Netflix announced the news through its Strong Black Lead Twitter account. Fans are excited for the upcoming final season of the show. Season 4 release was delayed before due to the Covid-19 restrictions.
“It’s official!! The squad is linking up for one last adventure. On My Block is coming back for a 4th and final season! Grab the gnomies and get ready!” tweeted Netflix from its Strong Black Lead account.
On My Block Season 4 Release Date
On My Block Season 4 is coming to the streaming service on Monday, October 4. We are getting season 4 of the show after a year and a half.
Cast
The following cast members are returning for season 4 of the show. Sierra Capri, Diego Tinoco, Jason Genao, Brett Gray, Jessica Marie Garcia, Julio Macias. All of them are going to be in season 4 of the show.
Plot
in season 3, Monse left Freeridge for a boarding school. Ruby, Cesar, and Jamal promised that they would never drift apart. However, we saw a time jump in the epilogue. Monse has new friends now. Jamal rejoined the football team. But, he is not talking to Ruby. Cesar is the leader of Santos now and Spooky is spending time with his pregnant girlfriend.
According to Netflix’s official synopsis:
Season 4 finds our friends two years later, having gone their separate ways. When a secret is unburied, they quickly learn you can’t run from the past and they will need to stick together to survive.
Showrunner Lauren Iungerich shared her thoughts about the time jump in her interview with the A.V. club;
“I feel like this is a great way to kind of reset so that we’re conquering new ground and saying new things about these characters, getting to know them even more. We did not do [that ending] as any safety mechanism [anticipating] getting canceled. We were very comfortable ending this knowing that we had a really good shot of getting a season four just because of how much Netflix was loving the cuts. It will all come down to how many people tune in and watch,”
What will happen in On My Block Season 4?
In her interview with the TV guide, Lauren Lungerich, she revealed that we will find out what happens between those two years that caused the friends to drift apart.
