Netflix Outer Banks was released in April 2020. The show managed to gain the attention of millions of fans and went trending soon after the release on Netflix. Outer Banks was renewed for a second season back in 2020 and it was confirmed by Netflix that Outer Banks will release in Summer 2021. However, Netflix has yet to reveal the exact release date of Outer Banks Season 2.
There are rumors going around on Social Media that Outer Banks Season 2 will air in April. Those rumors are fake. Netflix released the list of all the shows that are releasing in April and Outer Banks was not on it. The first season was filmed in 2019 and was released on Netflix in 2020. In January, Outer Banks season 2 rumored to have wrapped filming. However, we are uncertain about this since no official comment was made regarding this. According to Hello Magazine, the series season 2 is still being filmed. After the renewal of the series, the production of the season began. However, it was delayed because of the ongoing pandemic. In September, they started to film season 2 again. In an interview Madison Bailey said:
We start season 2 with the three Pogues [Kie, JJ, and Pope] in the Outer Banks grieving and figuring out their life without John B, Sarah, and what that means for the mission. How are we going to go about this when it’s just us? Then you get to see John B and Sarah in the Bahamas doing their thing.
Outer Banks has a cast member as well. Elizabeth Mitchell. She is known for playing Dr. Juliet Burke in the TV show Lost. She used to be a fan favorite and now she is joining outer banks now. Elizabeth is going to play the role of Limbrey.
Outer Banks Season 2 Release Date
According to our sources, the filming is still ongoing. We might get to see the Outer Banks upcoming season sooner than we expect, most probably in July 2021. The filming was set to conclude in December. Josh Pates has teased the first few episodes:
“There would be a couple episodes that take place, at least partially, in the Bahamas, it unfolds into a bigger mystery. We keep our old villains and we add some new ones. But it always comes back to the Outer Banks.”
Nothing is confirmed yet about the release date. However, the April release rumors are fake.
