Pakistan and Covid-19

COVID-19: Pakistan Is Now 6th Most Affected Country in Asia

There are currently 4,337,022 cases and about 292,394 deaths worldwide because of Coronavirus. Over 80,000 new cases are popping up daily. The Coronavirus was originated from China, Wuhan. However, they managed to deal with it and now roughly 1-5 cases pop up in China. China is now the 11th most affected country in the world, a month ago it was the most affected. Lockdowns were imposed to deal with COVID-19, however, in some countries, the lockdown has been lifted.

Currently, the USA is suffering the most from Coronavirus, with over 1,408,000 total cases and over 83,360 deaths. The first country to ever cross 1M cases. COVID-19 was declared “Pandemic”. as the virus is contagious and there is no cure nor a vaccine. Some people recover, some are not so lucky. People are living with a false belief that will be lucky ones that even if they get infected, they will eventually recover from it. There are myths like Coronavirus only affects older people, that’s not true, it can affect anyone, anywhere but people having diabetes or suffering from any lung disease, they should be worried the most. Another myth was if you have a good immune system and a healthy lifestyle, it won’t affect you:

It just keeps replicating in your lungs, and replicating in your lungs and all the while you keep calling in for more reinforcements

Sometimes, the immune system response is enough to fight back the virus. But sometimes, it does more damage than good.

If I have a good immune system, will I have a greater chance at surviving Covid-19?

Yes, it will increase your chances against COVID-19. However, lately the virus is also claiming lives of young people.

4 Days ago, NBCNews posted about a 5-year-old, who died from COVID-19 in the USA. So, it’s pretty much obvious nobody is safe from it.

Pakistan is witnessing a huge spike in the number of cases daily. About 1000-1500 cases are popping up daily in Pakistan. Eid-ul-Fitr is close, people are busy preparing for it, shopping from their favorite brands, lockdown is no longer imposed not knowing or caring that they could end up bringing the virus along with their dresses. Besides, what’s the point of purchasing a dress? When you are going to stay at home. If you are thinking about meeting your friends and relatives this eid, then your stupidity knows no limits.

While doctors and researchers are working to treat the COVID-19 patients, fighting a battle without proper gear, just to protect you, so you can survive. They got their own children and family too. A few days back, I heard a doctor died because there was a shortage of ventilators in every hospital and he was sent back home where he died.

And people here are only worried about “going out”, “partying”, meeting-up with their friends, not only risking their family but everyone they meet.

How did China manage to fight against COVID-19? They don’t have any vaccine or cure either. They were united against this virus. Wuhan was completely sealed off. There are a total of 82,919 cases up till now and 78,171 recovered. They did lose lives, but they were mature about it.

You can celebrate Eid next year, shopping can wait, meet-ups can wait but the virus won’t.
