According to Variety, A live-action show of classic cartoon network series “Powerpuff Girls” is coming to CW. The Powerpuff Girls first aired back in 1998 and has six seasons. The cartoon series was created by Craig McCracken and produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions and later it was produced by Cartoon Network Studios. The plot follows three superpowered sisters Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup who were accidentally created by a professor in a lab. Now, these super-powered sisters protect Townsville from the bad guys like Mojo Jojo.
Most of the famous super-hero TV shows are already airing on the CW. The Live-action Powerpuff Girls series will feature “adult versions of the superpowered sister”. Greg Berlanti is actually behind the project, who is an american writer and the mind behind the arrowverse.
A #PowerpuffGirls live-action series is in the works at CW from Diablo Cody, Heather Regnier, and Berlanti Prods. The new show would see the three girls as “disillusioned twentysomethings” as opposed to little kids.
There is no news on the cast yet, but from the tweet we can assume that we are going to see sisters as “disillusioned twentysomethings who regret spending their youth fighting criminals”.
