Resident Evil series is based on the Capcom game of the same name. The first resident evil game was released in 1996. Netflix released the Live-Action series of Resident Evil on July 14th, 2022. Resident Evil is not yet renewed for a second season. The Netflix series was produced by Constantin Film, the same producers behind the movies. This wasn’t the first video game adaptation by Netflix. The Witcher is also based on a video game of the same name. The show is quite famous because of the unique plot and cast.
Netflix Resident Evil has a rating of 3.4/10 on IMDb. So, there is a chance that the show might get canceled due to low ratings and bad reviews. However, Season 1 ended on a cliffhanger.

Netflix Resident Evil Season 2 Plot
There are two timelines in the first season. In year 2022, Albert Wesker, along with his two daughters, Jade and Billie moves to New Raccoon City. In the second timeline, it is revealed that there are monsters and zombies around the world because of the T-Virus. Jade Wesker is searching for the cure in this timeline. At the end of Season 1, Jade was shot by Billie and Billie left with Jade’s daughter Bea.
So, the possible plot of Season 2 will be Jade trying to get back her daughter. In the first timeline, it wasn’t revealed how the virus was spread. In season 2, we’ll get to see what caused the outbreak. On the piece of paper, Albert Wesker gave address of Ada wong, who was the employee of original Albert Wesker. Dabb teased while speaking with TVLine:
I will say that the deeper we get into it, the more story we’re finding as we bring in more elements from the games and expand these worlds and these characters. We made the choice [in Season 1] to just touch the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the game lore. If we’re lucky enough to go into Season 2 and beyond, you’ll start to see a lot more game elements coming into the show. All the games that have come out today, [from] the first game to Village, are the backstory of our show. So Raccoon City got nuked. In Eastern Europe, there was a giant vampire lady [aka Lady Dimitrescu]. That’s all in our world.
Release Date
Netflix has not yet renewed the series for a second season. However, there is a high chance that Netflix will renew it soon. The filming of first season began in February 2021 and ended in December. The show was released on 14th July. From this, we can assume that the second season will release late 2023 or in 2024.
