Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) vs Galaxy S9+, 2019 Review!

From top-specced S series to mid-range A series, Samsung offers some of the best smartphones in its portfolio. Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) is the most recent smartphone to join the Galaxy A range family. How ‘Galaxy A9’ differs from ‘Galaxy S9 Plus’? We have penned down some of the differences between the two smartphones below.

Design of Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus and Galaxy A9 (2018)

The Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus comes with a metal core having a lovely curved glass front and back design. Slim bezels are present at the top and bottom, with an infinity display offering dual-curved edges. Its rears have fingerprints sensors. Samsung Galaxy S9 plus has a dual-camera setup on the back.

Samsung Galaxy S9 plus has a Super AMOLED display. Galaxy S9 Plus dual-curved edges with its fantastic display make it even more special. It has a 6.2- inch display. It gives the resolution of Quad HD+, as it contains a pixel density of (2960 × 1440) 531ppi. S9 Plus has an 18:5:9 aspect ratio.

Like Galaxy S9 Plus, Samsung Galaxy A9 also has a feature of super AMOLED display making them rich, vibrant colors and deep blacksS9It has a display of 6.3-inches. It has a pixel density of (2220 × 1080) 392ppi dropping its resolution from Quad HD+ to Full HD+. Galaxy A9 has an aspect ratio of 18:9.

The Samsung Galaxy S9+ has two camera lenses while Samsung Galaxy A9 has four camera lenses on the rear. Galaxy A9 quad lens is of the 24-megapixel sensor for low light images and generic shots. It has a secondary 5-megapixel depth sensor for blurred backgrounds. Its third sensor has an ultra-wide 120-degree, 8-megapixel sensor. The fourth sensor is a 10-megapixel telephoto lens for 2× optical zoom.

Galaxy S9 Plus offers optical image stabilization,  autofocus, 4K video capabilities and has some of the excellent results.  It has a 12-megapixel dual pixel sensor with a dual aperture between f/1.5 and f/2.4. It has a 12-megapixel telephoto lens for a 2x optical zoom.

Hardware

Samsung Galaxy S9 plus has either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 or the Exynos 9810. S9 plus has 6GB RAM and is available in 128 GB and 256GB options. It has microSD but is capped at 400GB. S9 Plus offers a3500mAh battery.

It has a very fluid performance and provides excellent sound with AKG-tuned stereo speakers. Galaxy A9 opt for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660. It has a 6GB RAM with 128 GB of storage, supports a microSD having storage expansion up to 512GB, has a huge 3800mAh battery.

Price and Conclusion

Samsung Galaxy A9 is available at Rs 61,999. Whereas the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus price is a little higher and is available at Rs. 78,500. S9 plus is a little expensive than Galaxy A9 but Galaxy A9 has a less premium finish, a lower resolution display,  no HDR, Full HD video only and no iris scanning. But all these features are available in S9 plus.

Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus offers a higher resolution front camera, a large battery capacity, extra RAM, more internal storage at a reasonable price. Both phones are exceptional in their performances but S9 Plus holds up an advantage.
