Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus Review in 2019

Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus was released in February 2018.

What the transactional year 2018 was for Samsung. From the releases like Samsung Galaxy Note 9, Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) and the Samsung Galaxy S9 to the updates they gave to its flagships.

But unfortunately, none of the devices seemed like a big hit. The placement of the fingerprint sensor was the biggest issue they fixed in previous phones and S9 Plus continued this theme.

Galaxy S9 Plus: Samsung’s Best 2018’s Phone

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 aside, ‘Galaxy S9 Plus’ was the most advanced phone of Samsung.

It’s all thanks to its bigger screen size and superb Camera. It’s Samsung’s best phone although it looks quite identical to S8 Plus.

It’s been a year since the Galaxy S9 Plus launch and it’s still one of the best phones on the buyers’ list.

At first glance, it is just like the last year’s Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus. But in fact, they are not identical. Galaxy S9 Plus’s bezels are a little bit reduced as compared to S9. This shaved off a little height of the phone.

The idea of switching to a much bigger screen in a small body worked for Samsung. When everyone else was trying to copy the iPhone X’s notch, Samsung came out with a similar style with 2017’s phone. Its 6.2-inch curved display will boast up Samsung’s sell.

The bezel at the ends of the display became thinner and the aluminum is marginally tougher. Gorilla Glass 5 coating the display is still in evidence. It is much heavier and thicker than the previous devices of Samsung.

Galaxy S9 Plus Dual Pixel Camera

12 MP camera that boasts an f/1.5 maximum aperture is improved on both handsets.

The new hardware that standout on the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus was it’s rear 12 MP dual-aperture camera.

It is the first camera phone with such a wide aperture. SuperSpeed Dual Pixel Camera in S9 plus let 28 percent more light than the previous ones.

It fixes its aperture automatically depending on the conditions from f/1.5 to f/2.4.

AR emoji

This phone has some of the best features including low-light and bright-light image and video-taking capabilities.

Its noise-defeating powers are more advanced than any of the best phone cameras of the past.

Super Slow-Mo recording, AR emoji, an upgraded version of Samsung’s Bixby assistant AI, which delivers real-time object detection and recognition are some of the greatest innovations present in Galaxy S9 Plus.

But unfortunately, Samsung’s AR emoji failed to bring much impact as did by Apple’s AR emoji feature.

The audio of the S9 plus is the big boost to the phone.

The sound of its stereo speakers is exceptional.

Volume at maximum and the punch sounds of the drums are very clear. S9 Plus delivers 1.4 times more volume than S8 Plus. It supports Dolby Atmos Technology.

This sounds gave movies an immersive 3D touch as it feels like the sound is coming from all the directions.

Security: Intelligent Scan Feature

Samsung S9 Plus has a new intelligent scan feature.

This combines facial features with Iris scanning to unlock the device.

Isn’t that good news that you don’t even need to touch the display to get excess to your device.

But there’s a piece of bad news too, that this intelligent scan feature doesn’t work with the face ID.

Battery Life of Galaxy S9 Plus

S9 Plus has an excellent battery life. On a full charge, it can easily last a workday.

It is a little expensive than Galaxy S9 but it offers a bigger screen with some of the best features.

I am currently using Galaxy S9 Plus, and I must say it is still an excellent device.
