Hartley Sawyer got fired from CW Flash after a user on Twitter exposed his offensive tweets. He played the role of Ralph Dibny/the Elongated Man in the series. His character was introduced in Season 4. According to Flash’s producers, he won’t be appearing in the seventh season. Flash”s Season 6 ended with a huge cliffhanger, Iris is still stuck in the mirror dimension. Also Flash is going to face a new threat, Godspeed, a new speedster.

The Flash Season 6 was cut short because of the pandemic. However, the missing episodes will be released along with The Flash Season 7. Obviously, we are not going to see Hartley Sawyer as the Elongated Man anymore. Eric Wallace has something planned to cover his character. He said:
We’re giving the Elongated Man a bit of a rest for [a] while. But we will leave the door open. Who knows what the future could bring. It is unknown. But I’m not saying by any means that it’s the end of the character, in fact, quite the opposite. We just don’t know when he will return, or in what form he will return. And that’s the beauty of comic book stories. It keeps it fresh.
Elongated Man in The Flash Season 7
Ralph Dibny, also known as Elongated Man, will show up in the Flash Season 7 but only for an episode or two and it won’t be played by Sawyer, they are going for a recast. Someone else will play the role to wrap up the storyline. Ralph was actually supposed to be the main role in the Season 7 since it was revealed that he is connected to The Flash Season 7 villain. It wasn’t revealed that which villain it is going to be.
It’s funny, I guess technically it would be a recasting, but the character won’t be a big part of Season 7. He’ll only be a part of just wrapping up the Sue storyline,” says Wallace. “We’re going to do it in a way that I think honors the spirit of the character and provides not only a satisfying conclusion to Sue’s murder mystery, but also it’s done with some humor.

Ralph was not included in The Flash Season 7 Trailer. The season 6 ended with a huge cliffhanger, Eva framed Sue for the carver’s murder. Since Ralph’s gone, Sue won’t disappear, she will be getting more screen time in Season 7. Eric Wallace Revealed that she will appear “more than once”. He also revealed how they are going to cover up the recasting:
In order to wrap that up, which we’re going to do at the top of season 7, Ralph has to be part of that,” Wallace added. “Now thank goodness, Ralph is a guy who can change faces and his appearance in many ways. Without giving any spoilers away, there are a couple of ways that we can have Elongated Man still appear in at least one episode this season to wrap that storyline up, that gets us what we need and still allows fans to say goodbye to the character, at least for the indefinite future
Release Date
The Flash Season 7 will air in January, 2021 . There is no news on who is going to play Ralph Dibny to wrap up his role.
