He is going to play as an enemy. The plot is not different than James Bond movies. They want to change the movie into a worldwide successful franchise. That is why the budget for the movie is going to be 200 million USD.

The Russo brothers are behind the production and direction of the movie. The Russo brothers also created Captain America: Winter Soldier. They said about the plot of the movie in an interview;
“The movie is a real mano a mano between those two great actors who represent two different versions of the CIA, in what it can be, and what it can do,” he told Deadline. “For those who were fans of Captain America: Winter Soldier, this is us moving into that territory in more of a real-world setting. That’s what this movie really means for us.” The movie will start shooting in January in Los Angeles.
“The intention here is to create a new franchise with a James Bond-level of scale and a budget upward of $200 million.”
Based on a book
The movie is loosely based on a back “The Gray Man”. However, we might see some changes in the story. But, mostly the movie franchise is going to follow the book. The book is written by American-novelist Mark Greaney.
