The Walking Dead is one of the most longest-running series in the history of television. The show has been on the air for more than 10 years now. The show has a strong fan base. The walking dead is rapidly moving towards its final season. Season 10 of the show was supposed to end after the 15th episode of season 10. But, due to the pandemic, the release dates were pushed further to October. However, AMC ended up making four new episodes. Here’s Negan was the final episode of season 10 of the show. But, it seems like they are working on a series of four episodes before season 11 of the show. These four episodes are going to focus on the origin of fan-favorite characters. The series is going to focus on Daryl Dixon, Negan, Maggie Rhee, and Carol. Fans have been asking for origin episodes of their favorite characters for a while now.
Plot
According the official website, the synopsis of the The Walking Dead: Origins Series is:
charts the story of the zombie apocalypse from the point of view of a single character and features new interviews and narrations from the actors that portray these iconic characters, interwoven with clips from the most pivotal moments of their journeys so far.
Even there was a stand-alone episode based on Negan. “Here’s Negan” gave us a glimpse of the Negan pre-savior life. We did not get to see how he became the leader of “The Saviours”. They were saving the rest of the story for the origin series. Angela Kang revealed that the rest of the story about Negan is not part of the original mothership show. The episode is part of the upcoming four episodes series. She said this during an interview;
“Yeah, there’s a ton of story in terms of what happens between this and his very first murder monologue, and when our characters cross him,” explains Kang on missing the Savior’s origin. “So, I really hope that that is a story that is told at some point, but it will probably not be on The Walking Dead mothership series.”
There is a possibility that “Dwight” and his wife Sherry will make an appearance in the stand-alone episode of the show. Both of them were part of Negan’s “Saviour’ gang. They played major roles in season 7 and season 8 of the show.
The Walking Dead: Origins Series Release Date
Daryl’s story will release on 15th July. Maggie Rhee’s story will release on 22 July. Negan’s story will release on 29 July and Carol’s story will release on August 5. Fans are excited about The Walking Dead: Origins Series.
