HBO is working on a True Blood Reboot. However, according to the source, no one from the original cast is returning. True blood was a famous show back in 2008. The famous TV series at CW “The Vampire Diaries” gave it a tough competition. The show ended in 2014. But, HBO is thinking about bringing the show back. This time they are going for a new cast and perhaps some other modifications in the story as well.
According to Variety magazine, the show is still in an early stage of development and no news is there about any of the prior cast members returning for the reboot. True Blood was created by Alan Ball. He also produced the show as well. However, there is no news if he is returning for a reboot of the show. Earlier, this month it was revealed that HBO is working on a “Gossip Girl” reboot. That is why it is quite shocking for the fans as they are bringing a lot of older shows once again.

True Blood Reboot is going to follow the previous plotline. “The Southern Vampire mysteries” is the book on which the show is based. The story is based on Sookie Stackhouse a barmaid in Louisiana and she can read people’s minds. However, things become complicated for her when the vampire make their existence known to the world. The series takes place in a time where vampires drink synthetic blood and they do not have to prey on humans anymore. The reboot is definitely going to follow the footsteps of the book like the previous show. The show is loosely based on the novel by Charlaine Harris.
New creators and director of the show
Robert Aguirre-Sacasa is known for creating the shows like “Riverdale”, “Katy Keene ” and also worked for the hit series “Glee”. He is now producing the True Blood Reboot and is also writing the script with Jami ‘O Brien as well.

There is no news about the cast members of the show yet. But , it is confirmed that no previous cast member will be returning for the reboot of the show. But , who knows they might change their mind about it.
