Twitter Emoji Reactions

Twitter is coming up with Emoji Reactions feature

Twitter is introducing new features during this pandemic, recently they launched Twitter Fleet. Twitter Fleet feature is basically Twitter Stories Feature similar to Snapchat, Instagram, and Facebook, picture or video that disappears after 24 hours. It is only available in India though and is still in the testing phase. Twitter is also working on Emoji Reactions feature similar to Facebook. It’s not the first time twitter came up with this idea, they were working on it back in 2015. However, they never really came out with this feature while Facebook did. It’s in the testing phase, users will be able to react to other tweets on Twitter. Love react is already available on Twitter and it is used as a “Like” feature on Twitter. Facebook uses thumb emoji as a “Like” feature.

The above screenshot was shared by Jane Manchun Wong, which shows the react emojis as well as react with the fleet feature. As much as we all going to love this feature, Twitter is pretty late to come up with this feature. Facebook even launched the care emoji reaction which is basically a gift to users so they don’t lose hope and can show care towards each other during the pandemic. While Facebook is mostly used for sharing “What’s on your mind”, Twitter is a microblogging social media platform. Where people actually raise voices or tweet about any breaking news. The Twitter audience increased a lot during the pandemic. So it’s logical to believe that they want to maintain this audience.

Emoji Reactions feature is still in the testing phase, so it’s hard to say if they are even going to roll out this feature. Even the Twitter Stories Feature, fleet, is only available in India. Not sure, if they are going to expand the availability.
