Crown Season 6 is renewed by Netflix. The series is created by British screenwriter Peter Morgan. The crown’s season 5 was released on Netflix this week. However, fans are already wondering if there is going to be a season 6 of The Crown. The series is one of the high-budget projects of Netflix. Each season the Crown is said to have a 100M dollar budget. The series also received a lot of love from critics and the audience and won 129 Emmys.
Crown Season 6 Release Date
There is no news about the release date of Crown Season 6 yet. But, according to the timeline of the previous seasons, season 6 might follow the November release date. Peter Morgan also revealed that he decided to end the series on season 5. But, after the release of season 5, he wants to go back to the original plan of releasing 6 seasons. Morgan said this in an interview with Hollywood Reporter:
“As we started to discuss the storylines for series five, it soon became clear that in order to do justice to the richness and complexity of the story we should go back to the original plan and do six seasons“.
Plot
Season 5 of the series included many events like Diana’s affair with Doctor Hasnat Khan and her divorce from Prince Charles. However, it did not include Diana’s death. Season 6 is expected to include Diana and her then-boyfriend Dodi Fayed‘s death. Other events that might make it to season 6 include Princess Princess Margaret’s death (younger sister of Queen Elizabeth II), Prince Harry’s addiction to cannabis and alcohol, and his stay at Featherstone Lodge, a detox center. Also, the war on terror is also expected to be included in season 6.
The show will not include any dramatized version of the recent events. The upcoming season will not include Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s wedding. Morgan revealed that the series will end in 2000, “season six will not bring us any closer to the present day — it will simply enable us to cover the same period in greater detail.”
Cast
All the previous cast members of season 5 will be back to reprise their roles in season 6. We will also see new cast members playing other members of the Royal Family. The roles of Princess William and Kate Middleton have been cast. Meg Bellamy will play Kate Middleton in season 6. Meg impressed the creators with her self-taped audition. It is Meg’s first acting job. Ed McVey and Rufus Kampa will play Prince William for season 6.
