Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro is the latest edition of the Note series of Xiaomi. It is a budget smartphone having decent specifications. It’s predecessor Redmi Note 8 Pro was a huge success which was released last year. Redmi Note 9 Pro has an eye-catching design and excellent battery life and camera. Just like its predecessor, it is also doing really well in the market. Though because of its mid-range processor critics have rated this smartphone 3/5.
Design and Display
Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro has a glass front and glass back, coated with Gorilla Glass 5. This phone comes with three color choices, Interstellar Black, Glacier White, and Aurora Blue. The design is similar to Note 8 Pro, however, the camera setup on Note 8 was vertical while on Note 9 it has a horizontal camera setup and is equipped with four cameras. Also, the phone has a plastic frame.
It has an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels FHD screen. The size of the phone is huge, 6.67 inches, and is heavier than the other flagships of Xiaomi. Moreover, according to Xiaomi, this smartphone has an anti-fingerprint coating. However, 450nits brightness is the real deal in this phone.
Performance
As mentioned above, it is not a performance beast because it is equipped with a mid-range processor, Snapdragon 720G. Like, Redmi Note 8 Pro it also has two variants, one has 4 GB Ram and 64 GB storage, and the second has 6 GB Ram and 128 GB storage. The good thing is, the storage is extendable using a MicroSD card. It can support a MicroSD card having up to 512 GB storage. On normal use, it has no heating issue and audio quality during calls is also good. The phone is running on Android 10, MIUI 11, and has an octa-core (2×2.3 GHz Kryo 465 Gold & 6×1.8 GHz Kryo 465 Silver) processor along with Adreno 618 GPU. In this price range, Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro is a deal-breaker.
Camera
Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro is equipped with four cameras on the back and one selfie shooter. The primary camera is of 64 MP with f/1.9, the ultrawide lens is of 8 MP, the macro lens of 5 MP and depth lens is of 2 MP. It can record 4K at 30 frames/second, 1080p at 120 frames/second and 720p at 960 frames/second. The front camera is equipped with a 16 MP lens having f/2.5. If you are taking photos in good daylight condition, you’ll get good results however, the camera is not for capturing pics at night. The night mode of the phone is satisfactory.
Battery
The best thing about this phone is its huge battery. It has a Non-removable Li-Po 5020 mAh battery that also supports fast charging 30W.
