It has been more than 3 months since the coronavirus(Covid-19) pandemic showed up. There are currently 362,051 cases worldwide and 15,496 deaths worldwide. China has suffered the most from this virus since the Wuhan, China was the origin of coronavirus.

Currently, Italy is suffering the most because of coronavirus with now over 59,000 cases and over 5400 deaths. The main reason this virus is spreading is that people are not taking it seriously and are not maintaining social distancing. This disease can spread from person to person, mostly through respiratory droplets or when a person coughs or sneezes. Also, people can get it if they touch a surface on where the virus is.

Scientists all over the world are trying to find the best drugs and treatments to treat and kill this virus. However, no luck yet. People with weak immune systems are the most vulnerable to this virus.

Last Monday, the first human clinical trial was performed. The patients were given vaccine shots. It was performed at the Washington Research Institute, funded by the National Institutes of Health.

Is Hydroxychloroquine helpful in fighting CoronaVirus(Covid-19)?

Hydroxychloroquine is a drug that is usually used to treat malaria, lupus erythematosus, and rheumatoid arthritis. It is actually helpful in killing malarial parasites. It also helps in benefiting your immune system, thus good for Rheumatoid Arthritis patients. Scientists believe that Hydroxychloroquine is helpful in eliminating Coronavirus(Covid-19) if taken along with Azithromycin. President Trump is also in favor of Hydroxychloroquine.

However, there is no clinical evidence that Hydroxychloroquine will treat and eliminate coronavirus(Covid-19), but according to reports, it seems to be helpful.

Are there other Drugs?

Lopinavir-ritonavir were considered to be effective against coronavirus(Covid-19), as they were developed to cure HIV. However, it didn’t show any promise in recent trials in China. There is another drug REMDESIVIR that was made to cure Ebola, research shows that it can be used to treat the virus, however, there is no clinical evidence yet.

We cannot jump to a conclusion about which drug is going to cure it. The best thing to do is to stay at home and avoid social distancing, wash your hands frequently, keep your immune system strong, try not to go out.
