Can’t Find Match in CS2: Why and How to Fix it?

At the time of CS2’s official release, players couldn’t find Multiplayer Match due to the server overload. But that time is long gone, and it has been days. Still, players Can’t Find a Match in CS2 again, but why? Actually, the issue was true with the servers at the time of release, but now, the issue is with the game settings, or you can also call it “Matchmaking Priority“.

It has been days after release of CS2 official release, but players can't find match in CS2, still.

CS2 or Counter-Strike 2 is the latest expansion to the King of Competitive FPS game series Counter-Strike. It is a successor to the previous Counter-Strike Global Offensive, popularly known as CSGO.

But why is it named CS2, instead of CSGO2? The game is redesigned on a brand new Source 2 engine developed by Valve and has new mechanics, as well as a gameplay system.

But, somehow the base is still the same, resulting in players not finding a match in CS2, after days from the official release. We have details on Why and How to Fix that as well below.

Why Can’t Players Find Match in CS2?

The reason behind players not being able to find matches in CS2 (Counter-Strike 2) is the game traffic bandwidth is restricted. It will restrict or change the priority, giving you a certain set of people with a certain bandwidth that matches your range, hence, limiting the players you can play the game with.

Also, there is another setting that allows you to play the game with players who have a certain ping range. If you increase that range, the game will start finding matches within that range.

How to Fix Can’t Find Match in CS2

To fix the issue, you need to start CS2 and head over to the in-game settings. From there, you will find the settings to change your acceptable game traffic bandwidth. Change the max acceptable game traffic bandwidth to unrestricted.

Below these options, you will find the acceptable ping. Change the max acceptable ping to 350, allowing you to play with players who have ping under 350, expanding your matchmaking search.

Steps

  • Open CS2 from Steam
  • Head over to in-game settings
  • Find Max Acceptable Game Traffic Bandwidth
  • Set it to Unrestricted
  • Find Max Acceptable Ping
  • Set it to 350

Both of these options will allow you to expand your search for players in the matchmaking, ultimately fixing the issue of “can’t find match in CS2“.

Players can't find match in CS2 due to the Max Acceptable Game Traffic Bandwidth being set to Restricted, and also the Max Acceptable Ping

Summary
