What is the Phalanx Dead Drop?
You need to find the Phalanx dead drop as part of the tier two Black Mous mission, Icebreaker. Outside this mission, the Phalanx dead drop is known as the Vondel University Dead Drop. It’s a way to salvage prized items when you can’t make it out alive.
The Icebreaker mission has three objectives:
- Pick up tracker and Letter of Introduction from the Vondel Zoo Dead Drop
- Deliver the Letter of Introduction to the Phalanx dead drop at the University
- Deliver the tracker to the same Dead Drop
To complete objectives 2 and 3, you must first locate the Phalanx dead drop. This is a bit confusing, as the objective says to find the Phalanx dead drop at the University. But that’s not where it actually is.
Phalanx Dead Drop Location
The Phalanx dead drop is on the side of the westernmost brick building north of the Graveyard in Vondel. It looks like a white dumpster. You can find it on your map at the intersection of D3 and E3.
How to Find the Phalanx Dead Drop
Travel to Vondel University campus
While the dead drop isn’t actually in the University, it is nearby. As such, you must first make your way to the University campus in Vondel. This is a big campus on the north side of the river.
The best way to get to it is from the northernmost spawn point near the exfil mark at the top of the map. You can also reach the university from the south. But you’ll need to fight way more enemies to do so.
Head towards the Graveyard
From the University, head in the direction of the nearby Graveyard. Your actual destination is the street south of the river separating the University campus and Graveyard.
Find the Dead Drop
Tread the main road by the river till you’re north of the graveyard. In the northernmost corner, you’ll see three old brick buildings with red or orange bricks. Target the one on the westernmost side. This will be closest to the main road at the bridge over the canal intersection.
You don’t have to enter the building to find the dead drop. It’s outside, and facing the main road. To find it, keep an eye out for a familiar white dumpster with the white highlights. Once you’ve found the dumpster dead drop, toss in the tracker and Letter of Introduction.
