No Hard Feelings managed to impress the critics and the audience and is Jennifer Lawrence’s first movie of 2023. The actress has returned to the big screens with a sex-comedy after a series of serious roles. The movie follows Maddie, an Uber driver slash bartender, who is at risk of losing her job when her car is impounded. But, she finds a way to get out of the situation. She decides to make a deal with 19-year-old Percy’s helicopter parents to date their shy son in return for a car.
The movie is Co-written and directed by Gene Stupnitsky and Co-produced by Jennifer Lawrence. But, even with a controversial plot No Hard Feelings managed to receive positive reviews and earned 87 million dollars.
The first movie was self-contained. But, it has never stopped Hollywood from making sequels. So, there is a possibility for a sequel.
No Hard Feelings Sequel Release Date
There is no news about the release date of the sequel yet. It is quite early to say anything about the potential sequel. No Hard Feelings release date was pushed to 23 June, 2023. if there is going to be a sequel, it will follow the pattern of the first movie, then No Hard Feelings Sequel will be released in the summer of 2025. It is highly unlikely that the sequel to be released in the summer of 2024.
Plot
Comedy sequels follow the formula and pattern of the original movies. So, the upcoming sequel will be focused on another situation with Maddie. She might have to be a dating coach for someone else and we might be seeing more of Percy and his adventures at college.
The second movie will have a similar controversial plot to the first one. Lawrence shared her feelings about the movie in an interview with Sky News;
“I think it’s time for a good old-fashioned laugh and it really is hard to make a comedy where you’re not offending people, Everybody in some sense will be offended by this film — you’re welcome.”
Cast
Andrew Feldman and Jennifer Lawrence will return to play Percy and Maddie. Andrew Barth revealed in an interview with Vanity Fair he put his enrollment at Harvard on hold to do the movie with Jennifer Lawrence.
Both of the actors share great chemistry and it is Lawrence herself who called Feldman to deliver the good news to him about his casting. Feldman also revealed in an interview with Vanity Fair about the bond he shares with the Hunger Games actress;
“We just immediately were diving into getting to know each other and breaking down any walls that there were. It went from ‘Wow, how cool that I’m working with this person’ to ‘This is a very special person in my life. This is somebody that will always be in my life.”
Conclusion
No Hard Feelings sequel is not confirmed yet, but there is still hope for the R-rated comedy to return for a sequel. Audiences have loved Jennifer Lawrence’s appearance in the 2023 comedy and would love to see more of Percy and Maddie’s adventures. However, it is too early to say about the sequel.
