About the game plans!
Diablo 4 is a masterfully planned game. Here developers have enough content to keep the players sticking to the game for months. This means they have some type of in-game seasons and battle pass system, right?
Yeah, this is exactly what the developers told us in their interview. But, the Battle Pass is going to launch a month and a half after the launch of the game which is in early June 2023.
So, we can expect the developers to start rolling our Seasons and Battle Pass somewhere around July.
Seasons in Diablo 4
The way Seasons will be brought to you in Diablo 4 is quite similar to how we experienced seasons in Diablo 3. There are going to be three quarterly updates and they will add new legendaries, new gameplay, features, classes, bounces, and so on. It is like new content with each update.
They are going to bring an overall new theme to the game and an overlay that changed things around based on the title of the Season. It will basically change aspects of the Sanctuary in Diablo 4.
Furthermore, just like other AAA titles, we are going to enjoy some Live Events as well in these mini expansion-type updates known as Seasons.
To keep players attached to the game we are going to have specific Season based Worlds and Objectives.
What’s the Catch?
The catch with Seasons in Diablo 4 is that they are going to work in their own Realms, which are somehow completely separate from the Eternal Realm in the game.
When you install the game you will start in the Eternal Realm. Here you create your character and get started with the game.
With the announcement of each Event or Season, you will ultimately have to create a new character and play the game from the very beginning.
This means, at the launch time, your created characters aren’t going to be participants of seasonal content. It is going to be specific to the Eternal Realm.
All in one, you will have to create a new character in each season every time and that character is not going to be playable in the next season, as well as where you initially started the game.
What will happen to Seasonal Characters?
The Seasonal characters are going to retire in Diablo 4 and get back to their Eternal Realm. They are going to join the other roster members you already had.
Seasonal Journey
A while back, the developers threw a forum at us showcasing the Seasonal Journey in which the seasons will be revolving around. In each Season, you will be honored to fight an extremely deadly foe as well.
In case you successfully defeat that foe, you will be blessed with cosmetic rewards and loot.
Battle Pass in Diablo 4
The new goodies or stuff will be offered through the Battle Pass during these seasons. In the Battle Pass, you will be able to go through a fee track and a premium track.
If you have ten dollars in your pocket, you will be able to use them. Then, take part in the premium Battle Pass Track.
Free Track
In the Free Track of Battle Pass, you will be able to keep track of Smouldering Ashes, the in-game currency to purchase seasonal blessings, giving you a gold boost, science boost, and much more.
Premium Track
It is going to reward you with unique cosmetic rewards and premium currency to purchase additional cosmetics from the shop. Or to purchase the battle pass for the next season.
The Verdict
You might be considering Diablo 4 a highly paid game because of the Premium Track. But in reality, you don’t have to pay anything inside the game to get rewards, and cosmetics, and have fun. It is an extra by developers that allows you to get something special in return. When it comes to the Seasons, you will have to make a new character every time. The old one will be shifted to Eternal Realm. It is done to make the game more enjoyable and everyone starts from the same base. You can make multiple characters and enjoy the game completely.
