Forza Motorsport is the undisputed king of racing games. There are multiple ways to play the game, either with your Keyboard, Racing Wheel, or even a Controller. Whatever the case may be, the best way to play Forza has always been with a controller.
Those who are on their Gaming PCs might have a bit of trouble as PlayStation DualSense Controllers are not working on Forza Motorsport Windows. But why? For the most part, when you have a DualSense (DS) PlayStation 5 Controller, it doesn’t get recognized on Windows.
How to fix it? You will have to find a way to recognize the controller on a Windows PC and hide the presence of the Xbox Controller. There are two software that you can use to do that, and we will be mentioning their use in our guide below.

Why is the PS5 DualSense Controller Not Working in Forza Motorsport?
The reason for that is simple; Xbox is owned by Microsoft and it is the competitor to PlayStation. Therefore, the PlayStation 5 controllers will stop working on Windows PC, as it prioritizes the Xbox Controllers.
When you plug in your PlayStation 5 DualSense Controller on a Windows PC, the Windows will automatically take it as an Xbox Controller. In this way, the controls get messed up and Forza Motorsport starts misbehaving because it sees both DualSense and Xbox inputs, hence, the Controller Not Working issue.
How to Fix PlayStation (PS5) Dualsense Controller Not Working on Forza Motorsport PC?
To fix the issue, you will have to somehow hide the status of the Xbox Controller. You will have to first install DS4Windows, as it will allow you to recognize the DualSense Controller on a Windows PC.
Then, you will have to follow the instructions to download HidHide Software which hides the presence of another console controller on Windows. Below, we have the proper steps to help you Fix the PS DualSence Controller issue.
- Install DS4Windows and configure it as per the instructions
- Install HidHide
- Reboot and leave the DS4 Windows completely closed
- In the HidHide configuration tab for a client, you have to add DS4Windows as a whitelisted program
- On the devices list, check DualSense
- Turn Off or Enable the device that is hiding at the bottom
- Close that Configuration Window
- Now, open the DS4Windows
- There will be a Key Icon with an X before the ex-column

When you are using a PlayStation Controller on a PC Windows, it detects it as an Xbox Controller, because Microsoft owns both Windows and Xbox Console. It favors and prioritizes Xbox before anything else.
When playing Forza Motorsport, the controller will stop working because it gets confused, detecting both a PS5 DualSense Controller and an Xbox Controller.
