Lords of the Fallen Sprinting/Running Lowers/Drops FPS (Frame Rates) to 30 FPS

Lords of the Fallen is a unique experience, as you get to play Dark Souls and Blood Bourne in a single game. But, due to the technical issues at hand here, players are not that happy. Firstly, the game is locked to 30 FPS for COOP Multiplayer, and secondly, the game has a 60 FPS maximum for the Storyline Campaign. Going one step ahead, when you are Sprinting, or Running in Lords of the Fallen, the FPS starts Dropping or Lowering to 30 FPS, making the experience a downfall. Don’t worry, we might have some setting tweaks that can help you fix this issue.

Why is FPS Dropping when Sprinting and Running in Lords of the Fallen (LotF)?

This issue is related to the in-game settings. Most of the users have noticed that turning specific in-game settings can help them get a constant 60 FPS in the game.

Other than that, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can also follow to fix this issue like closing background apps, updating drivers, disabling antivirus, and so on.

How to Fix Lords of the Fallen Sprinting/Running Lowers/Drops FPS (Frame Rates) to 30 FPS?

Change in-game Settings

Head over to the game settings and from there turn down the Global Illumination Quality. Also, change the reflections to medium, because when you have either Ultra or High, it automatically enables the Ray-Tracing.

You can go ahead and change your Display Mode in the game. Sometimes, the FPS starts dropping because you don’t have the fullscreen selected. Play with the Game Modes a bit and check which one suits you best.

Lower the in-game preset a bit as well. It might be that the game is fairly demanding and your system isn’t able to pull it off.

Verifying Game Files

Go to Steam>Library>Right Click Game>Properties>Files>Verify Integrity of Game Files. It will allow the Steam Client to check on the game files, repairing the ones that are corrupted and reinstalling the ones that are missing.

Upgrade Drivers

Download Nvidia Experience to get the latest GPU Drivers for Nvidia cards, and AMD Adrenaline for the AMD cards. Also, type in Update on the Windows Search Bar and press enter. Then you can search for Updates and let Windows get them.

Disable Antivirus and Firewall

We rarely notice it but the Antivirus and Firewall get in the way of seamless gameplay. So, to fix Lords of the Fallen Dropping FPS to 30 while Running or Spriting, you need to disable both the Antivirus and Firewall.

Close Background Applications

Finally, head over to the Task Manager on Windows and close all the unnecessary running apps. Close them all and restart your PC, again doing the same process. It allows your system to run the game at the optimal performance.
