What is Conjure Elemental?

Baldur’s Gate 3 features a bunch of different spells characters can use to deal damage, inflict Status Ailments, buff allies, or interact with the environment. All of these spells belong to one of eight schools. These Schools of Spells are:

  • Abjuration
  • Conjuration
  • Divination
  • Enchantment
  • Necromancy
  • Illusion
  • Evocation
  • Transmutation 

Conjure Elemental is one such spell. It belongs to the School of Conjuration and is a Level 5 Spell. It bends the barrier between the Planes until they allow an elemental ally to follow and fight for you. Other examples of Level 5 Spells are Cone of Cold, Wall of Stone, and Contagion. 

Possible Summons of Conjure Elemental 

From the spell name, we can conclude that it conjures some type of elemental summon. But exactly what elementals can you summon? 

Turns out this spell has four possible summons at Level 5. Fire elemental, Water elemental, Stone elemental, and Air elemental. You can see each of these as variants upon clicking on the spell. 

You can also upcast this spell as a level 6 spell. In this form, it lets you summon a fire myrmidon, water myrmidon, stone myrmidon, and air myrmidon.

How to Cast Conjure Elemental?

Pick a Suitable Class 

Not every Baldur’s Gate 3 character can use Conjure Elemental. In fact, this spell is only available to the Druid, Wizard, and Warlock classes. So if you want to use this spell, make sure to first pick a suitable class.

Reach Level 9

Conjure Elemental may be a level 5 spell, but you don’t actually unlock it until your character reaches level 9. 

To level up fast, complete as many quests as possible and take your time exploring the game world. It also helps to have characters like Wyll and Gale around. Their high-damage spells can help you take out enemies quicker, thus getting more experience in a shorter amount of time.

Cast Conjure Elemental 

Select conjure elemental from your spells at the bottom of the screen. Then select which variant of conjure elemental you would like to cast. Cast it for one friendly elemental of CR 5. 

This spell lasts until long rest and casting it requires no concentration. It has a range of 18 meters.


You can cast the spell Conjure Elemental from the bottom of the screen. It has four possible summons. Fire elemental, Water elemental, Stone elemental, and Air elemental.
