How to Get Cool Safflina
Cool Safflina is most common in the cold regions north of Hyrule. The cold drains your HP, so prepare some cold-resistant food and armor before you start.
Use ingredients like Warm Safflina, Sizzlefin Trout, Sunshrooms, and Spicy Peppers to add cold resistance buffs to your food. You can also combine a monster part with a Warm Darner or Summerwing Butterfly for a cold resistance elixir. The more of these specialized ingredients you use, the longer the cold resistance lasts.
Wearing specialized armor is another way to protect yourself against the cold. The Snowquill armor set purchased from Rito Village is best for this. But you can also use the Archaic Warm armor or the Ruby Circlet bought from Gerudo Village.
Head to Hebra Mountains
The best place to farm Cool Safflina is the Hebra Mountains. You can find plenty of this plant around the mountains and near the edge of the map.
Goflam’s Secret Hot Spring is particularly abundant in Cool Safflinas. To fast-travel there, first travel to Tabantha Tower. Then glide west towards the mountains. See a small pond with a waterfall? That’s the Secret Hot Spring.
Explore the Hot Spring for Cool Safflinas. You should be able to collect 15 of them. The plants in this location respawn, so you can come back after a while for more.
Explore Other Cold Regions
As this plant thrives in cool areas, you can also find it in the Tabantha Frontier, Gerudo Desert, and Faron region. Keep an eye out for patches of rocks. Cool Safflinas usually grow in rocky areas.
And if you’re not fond of the cold, you can look for Cool Safflinas on the sky islands. The South Lanayru Sky Archipelago is especially great for this.
Use the Sheikah Sensor
You get the Sheikah Sensor from Robbie after completing the “Mystery of The Depths” quest. Upgrade it. Then select Cool Safflina from your Hyrule Compendium. You need to photograph the item with the Camera Rune at least once to do this.
Once you select the item, the sensor will detect it. Keep an eye on the radar icon beside the mini-map. It will beep once you’re close to your selected item.
High Knockback Weapons
When farming Cool Safflinas, bring a high knockback weapon like a sledgehammer. Hit the plants with it to make them easier to collect.
You can find Cool Safflinas in the Hebra Mountains and other cold areas. This guide on How To Get Cool Safflina in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom covers the whole process in detail. As always, happy gaming!
