You can find the Farlsayer of Bhaal Ghislev in the Undercity Ruins. This is a widespread tunnel system in the sewers beneath Baldur’s Gate. To enter it, head inside the Guildhall and make your way through the sewers. You’ll reach the Undercity Ruins waypoint.

Take a right from this waypoint. You’ll now reach a large, open space surrounded by a giant building and a bunch of cliffs. You need to pass a perception check here. If you succeed, your party will recognize the area as a giant trap.

There are more than a dozen Bhaal Reapers waiting to ambush you all over the place. This incudes on top of cliffs and behind the windows of the northern building. But your main enemy is the Farlsayer of Bhaal Ghislev. You must kill him to go past this area and explore more of the Undercity and Temple of Bhaal.

How to beat farslayer of bhall reaper in Undercity Ruins?

Make one Character Invisible

The first thing you need to do is separate a single character from your party and use an invisibility spell, scroll, or potion on them. Try to use someone who can cast ranged spells here. Although you can also use Lae’zel or Karlach for this role.

Invisibility spells include the level 2 Invisibility and level 4 Greater Invisibility spells. If you don’t have either of these, you can use the Scroll of Invisibility to shield your character from enemy eyes.

The Scroll of Invisibility is a common consumable item that keeps you invisible unless you attack or use a spell. You can also use the Potion of Invisibility to turn invisible. This keeps you invisible for a whole minute, as long as you don’t attack or cast a spell. Be sure to carry multiples of these items to maintain invisibility for as long as possible.

Head to the Bridge

After turning one of your characters invisible, head down the slope in front of you. You are now in the area where you’ll be ambushed by the Bhaal Reapers. Keep the character invisible and send it across the broken column acting as a bridge. Once on the other side, head up a ladder on your right.

Then take a second ladder to reach the platform with Farlsayer of Bhaal Ghislev. This enemy will stand out due to his distinctive red coloring. Approach him from behind and hide behind the stone block with the blue circle on it. Keep your invisible character waiting in this position until the rest of your party joins the fight.

Focus on Damaging Farslayer

Once your entire party enters the area, a fight will ensue. Your character on the platform will probably have run out of invisibility by now. But that doesn’t matter because they have a direct line of sight to the Farlsayer of Bhaal Ghislev.

Why is this important? Because while the entire area is teeming with powerful enemies, you don’t need to beat all of them to win. You just need to kill the Farlsayer of Bhaal Ghislev. This is not an easy task by any means, but it’s doable as long as you focus the majority of your damage on the Farlsayer.

Have Your Other Characters Stay

It may be tempting to send the rest of your characters across the bridge to the Farslayer’s location. But doing so is not a good idea.

There are enemies in the building windows. If you try to cross the bridge, they will shoot Roaring Thunder arrows at you, causing you to be knocked back and off the bridge. The enemies on the ground will also do everything in their power to keep you off the bridge.

Keeping all this in mind, your main strategy should focus on your previously-invisible character on the platform. Use this character to damage the Farslayer until he dies. This may take a while, but it will work. With your other characters, target the highest ledge featuring the archers with area-of-effect attacks.

Deal Damage from Afar

We have already covered that dealing damage to the Farlsayer should be your top priority. But how exactly should you go about this? This enemy boss doesn’t have any weaknesses. But that doesn’t mean you can’t wear him down.

Save your game progress and switch to turn based mode to buy yourself more time. Then keep peppering him with a continuous barrage of attacks. Any spell or attack you have available will do. You will only be able to do a little damage per hit, but every hit counts. And if possible, try to increase your chances of landing critical hits.

Once Farlsayer has a certain amount of health left, he will transport away. You will now find him in the doorway below the ladders with a new enemy in front of him.

Beat the Farslayer of Bhall Reaper

You’re close to victory once the Farlsayer switches positions. Use ranged attacks to harm him if you can. Or climb down from your post to attack him from close range.

At this point, it should only take a couple more hits to kill him. Once the Farlsayer dies, the remaining enemies will simply announce that the trial has been passed and start disappearing. This leaves you free to move to the Farslayer’s spot and explore the rest of the Undercity Ruins and the Temple of Bhaal.
