How to Unlock Smoky Progg Boss Fight in Foot of Stairs?
To unlock the Smoky Progg Boss, you will have to first unlock all three areas of the Forth Area and then all three base camps in the fourth area. From the Tutorial of the game, this area makes “Hero’s Hideaway”. Therefore, you need to complete Hero’s Hideaway in all four areas and three base camps to get the Smoky Porgg.
After getting your hands on all three base camps, you will unlock the “Foot of Stairs”. It is a Danger Level 4 area. Get inside the area to fight the boss himself.
Defeat Pikmin 4 Smoky Progg Boss
Getting Glow Pikmin
Now, to Beat Smoky Progg Boss, you will have to get as much Critical Mass with your Glow Pikmin. If you think it is hard, you can just do other Knife Editions and collect Glow Seeds.
Then, you can throw a bunch of those Glow Seeds when you need them and just Spawn hundreds of Glow Pikmin in Pikmin 4, specifically for the Smoky Progg Boss.
Collecting Star Piles
When you open the map, you can see that all the enemies are already placed on the map. You can see them. Considering the area itself, you need to first Collect as many Star Piles as you can.
For the closer Piles, you can just throw 2 or 3 Glow Pikmin, and leave them there. They will take care of the whole Pile itself. It will make things much better and can be done faster this way.
After starting, you will have to take your right side, destroying the Vase/Stuff alongside the Star Pile. This will reveal a hidden entrance. Just throw 2 Glow Pikmin on the Pile and use that entrance.
This is just the starting. As you get out, do the same with the other Star Pile and move left. There are some enemies as well that you can go around.
Activating and Beating Enemies/Bugs
Remember to use the Dash with Otchi (Dog) and you can run over the smaller bugs crawling. You will also find some enemies that can’t see you unless you come into their sight.
In the center, there is the Smoky Progg Egg as well. But, leave it be and don’t mess with it. There are some small structures as well that you can activate by touching them.
Fighting Pikmin 4 Smoky Progg Boss
At some point, the Egg will automatically hatch on its own and reveal Smoky Progg. He is coming in slow, so you can catch some Star Piles with your Glow Pikmin.
As a recommendation, you can just get rid of all the small enemies in the areas. They will pose trouble for you later on, so get rid of them first-hand.
You can dash behind Smoky Progg if you like. Then, in the end, when everything is clear, just charge up and Dash on the front of the Smoky Progg – Foot of Stairs Night Expedition Boss.
Recall all your Pikmin and run back. There are sometimes random enemies attacking your Star Piles, so take care of them as well. Now, you have to repeat that by charging up and dashing with your Otchi (Dog) on the Smoky Progg.
Whistle your Pikmin, recall them, and get back. After he stops the scream, do that once again. Sometimes, a friend or double enemy appears alongside the Boss Fight.
Remember what we said before, you need to get rid of the extra enemies besides the boss first. After you defeated Smoky Progg in Foot of Stairs Boss Fight, you can just go to the smaller enemies and kill them next.
Steps remain the same, you have to dash on them and get back. If you have the Otchi (Pup/Dog) Skill Mega Rush Level that will also stun the enemies when you Dash with your Dog.
