How To Unlock The Warrior Vocation In Dragon’s Dogma 2

Dragon’s Dogma 2 continues the series tradition of letting you swap vocations (classes) to change up your playstyle. Finding those unlock quests is part of the adventure! While you start with some basics, becoming a Warrior takes a little legwork and a treasure hunt.

Quest Begins in Vernworth

Once you reach the bustling city of Vernworth, it’s time to hit up the Vocation Guild. It’s tucked away under Shakir’s Inn, just off the main square. Look for Klaus behind the counter – he’s the guy who can help turn you into a sword-swinging powerhouse. Start the “Vocation Frustration” quest, and he’ll task you with finding the tools that represent both the Warrior and Sorcerer vocations.

Shopping Trip (But With Monsters)

Before we start our greatsword quest, check in with Roderick, the blacksmith in the town square. He’s got the crossed swords sign, easy to spot! Snag that “Monster Culling” quest while you’re there, we’ll knock it out along the way. Then, let’s set “Vocation Frustration” as our active quest so we don’t get lost.

Now, time to head northwest out of Vernworth towards Trevo Mine. The goblins outside are just a warm-up for what’s inside!

Into the Mine We Go!

This mine’s not too complex, thankfully. After some initial fighting, you’ll spot a big set of rock steps to your right. IGNORE that deeper cave path to the left for now, we want those steps! Follow the path, and you’ll find a room with two paths branching off.

See that little door to the right? Don’t go in just yet. Instead, look to the right of where you entered for a pile of junk. Rummage around in there, and voila – you found a Two-Hander greatsword! This is your key to unlocking the Warrior path.

Back to Klaus We Go!

Now, hightail it back to the Vernworth Vocation Guild and show that shiny greatsword to Klaus. He’ll be impressed, and finally let you switch to being a Warrior (after you pay the fee in DCP, of course).

Final Words

Warriors are the heavy hitters of Dragon’s Dogma 2. They might be a bit slow, but they pack a punch! Their skills let them unleash devastating attacks, break enemy defenses, and even attract attention to protect their allies. If you like the feeling of being an unstoppable force on the battlefield, the Warrior is a great choice.
